I know I haven't been here to long but I am taking a break. I gave up TV for lent and it made me realize how much time I am really wasting on TV and randomly surfing the web or updating my blog, myspace or facebook. My best friend tells me that she reads my blog so that she knows what is going on in my life. That is a little sad. I am taking a break. I am going to get my life in order. Starting with getting my bills paid off and getting a social life. I am going to try my hardest to actively participate in my life instead of watching it go by. Goodbye for now and God Bless! Comment! (5) | Recommend! You may want to take a bathroom break before you read this : A 5 day recap Wednesday. 3.28.07 12:37 am Ok so you are warned... The past 5 days have been interesting and I plan to recap all of them now. Friday I had Friday off for a change and decided that I would go out and have a bit of fun. Ok so fun for me meant Borders. I have some books to return so I got a store credit and spent 2 hours reading and browsing and enjoying myself. I ended up purchasing two books and coming home to try to get a good nights sleep for the first time in a while. Saturday Well I did get that good nights sleep so Saturday started off great. I was on time to work on a Saturday for the first time in a while. I was on the register all day and had my review around 4ish. I have been there for about 4.5 months now and this is my first review. I was told I would have one after 3 months but oh well no biggie. So I had to evaluate myself on the same criteria that they evaluated me on. Let me just start out that I typically hold myself to a higher standard then most people. So the fact that I overall rated my performance as average shouldn't have surprised anyone that had known me for 4.5 months. However my manager was and I quote "shocked" by my answers. She and the general manager had rated me above average and excellent. It took me 45 minutes to get through this review. I explained to her the whole I have pretty high expectations of myself and whatnot but it didn't seem to click with this one. Then I went on to bring up, very professionally, a few things that I had seen that I thought were worth mentioning and she attempted to be fair and diplomatic and well understand what I was staying. Did I mention she is a little dense? Well I finally got out of there and I had requested that if we weren't busy if I could go home early since Saturday was Jackson's birthday party. (He turned 3 on 3/16.) So I managed to get out an hour early. The birthday party at the house was the family and a few family friends. (The kiddy party was earlier in the day.) Well in general I can't handle my family when they group together like that, especially when my cousin finds it necessary to bring her doofus friends. (Amber please tell me we weren't that retarded when we were 17!) So I hid out in my room and worked on a few things. I came down for dinner and cake and presents. I made Jackson a wooden train and painted it red, blue and yellow. So when that was over and everyone left I returned to my solitude. I had another bad night though. I have been having issues with insomina and didn't get to sleep until 3 AM. Sunday Well becuase of my late bedtime I didn't wake up until 10:05 so mass was out of the question (mass starts at 10:00). I decided to sleep again. I woke up in barely enough time to shower and get to work. I was grumpy and pissy in general in work thanks to my horrible nights sleep. When I finally got home I did a whole load of nothing but play on the computer and smoke. Well about 10ish I heard the dogs going nuts and clawing at the door. I opened the door up and told them to hush. When I turned around I saw what they were barking at. There was this massive black dog directly in front of me and I kind of froze and said Oh Shit! I asked if he was a nice puppy then he came running at me and I nearly shat myself. I relaxed just about the time he jumped on me and started licking my face. I got him off of me and since I didn't recognize him and I know most of the dogs in the neighborhood thanks to Jackson and his love of dogs I looked for a collar. He had a nice leather collar and choke chain but no tag so I grabbed a leash and walked him to the neighbors to ask if they recognized him. They didn't and we walked over to another neighbors. They had seen him walking around for several days and assumed he was a drop off. Shit! Now this dog was deemed to be my responsibility. He was definitely hungry and thirsty so I gave him food and water and hoped that I He spent the night on the porch. Monday The first day of the work week sucked. No posters of the dog now deemed "Charlie" until we can find his owners and/or a no kill shelter with openings. Then the best part of my day was when I got to work and realized that it was very warm. ARound noon I saw the Murphy (aka A/C guys) truck in the parking lot. We had been having a lot of trouble with the A/C last year and I hoped it woudl be a quick fix. Then we got the email... The A/C was out and we needed two new compressors. They would fix it asap but that we could come in to work tomorrow in shorts and t-shirts to help keep cool. This was odd for my office considering the fact that until recently not wearing pantyhose could get a lady written up. So I was very happy! When I left work I had to get out of the parking lot by using the back gate becuase a 50 foot crane was blocking the driveway! I was not aware that a 50 foot crane could even get in our littl eparking lot...but it did and was lifting the bad compressors off of the roof. When I got home it was decided by my aunt that I would take the dog to the animal hospital to see if he had an ID chip. So I loaded this massive dog into my Cavalier and drove 20 minutes and he didn't have a frickin' chip. So I drove him back to the house dropped him off and went to RCIA. Another 3 AM night... Tuesday Today the little (ha) fur ball stayed in the basement since he was bugging the neighbors with the barking and it was supposed to rain. He is a funny dog. Very cute but not as cure as my Snort puppy. So I went to work and had no desire to do any real work but did manage to do some work. The A/C finally came back on around 2 and from the way we all acted you would think we had just won the lottery. I didn't have to work the second job tonight so I spend sometime relaxing. I finished one of the books I bought on Friday and it was awesome! It was Lamb by Christoper Moore in case you were wondering. We had another one of those family dinners and then I retired to my bedroom to be productive which I actually managed to do for once. It has started raining and is looking like one of those 3 AM nights again.... Comment! (1) | Recommend! Sigh Saturday. 3.24.07 10:10 pm So much to blog about yet so little desire to do so... I'll be back later... I think I need a cigarette. Maybe it will inspire me to write. Comment! (0) | Recommend! The Little Man Thursday. 3.22.07 1:20 am The little man, aka my cousin Jackson, is having a difficult evening. Poor guy! I had the baby monitor for a bit while Pam was out walking the dogs. When she got back I was already upstairs so she said she would get it when she came up. I heard the first sighs and thought to myself "Go back to sleep little one." Then the moans, again the same thought. Then the cry! I had the monitor so it was my responsibility. I got up and went into his bedroom and walked over to the bed his pillow was damp. I felt him and he was very sweaty. I tried to wake him without picking him but once he woke up he wanted to be picked up, I picked him up and shushed and talked and hmmed to him like I typically do but it wasn't working so I rocked and bounced and talked and patted his little back, nothing. He acted like he wanted down so I put him down, he made a beeline for my knees and cryed. I picked him up and Pam came up stairs and took him. She got him back to sleep and got the baby monitor. She stayed upstairs to work on her computer. Ok so about 20 minutes pass and I decide to step outside for a cigarette. I smoke and surf the web. (I love my laptop and wireless internet...) I am almost finished with my cigarette when I hear him crying again. I finish my cigarette and go back inside. Pam is repeating my actions from previous episode with him. She finally gets him back to sleep. While I was typing this he started crying again. Pam is lying in bed with him. This may be one of those nights when he ends up in bed with me... If he keeps crying after Pam and I head to bed I always get him and put him in bed with me. He can't sleep in Pam's room because she has to sleep with this machine hooked up to her and the noise keeps him awake plus the cords for the machine. I know that this is bad to let him sleep in my bed. I shouldn't do that. He has these nights very rarely but we all sleep better if he is in my bed. He sleeps soundly when I put him next to me plus I sleep better and tend to actually get up on time when he is in the bed with me. I don't go into that coma sleep that I usually enter into at night... Well I should probably get ready for bed and prepare to have Jackson in the bed with me... Night all. Comment! (2) | Recommend! Anger and Failing within the Community College Wednesday. 3.21.07 12:23 am Ok so lets start out with what happened first... I called my financial aid office and attempted to talk to them. 1. They didn't seem to understand what I was talking to them about. (I was talking to them about the FAFSA. They deal with the FAFSA for EVERY student and should understand the damn thing.) 2. They just didn't care. So basically it will cost me the same amount per semester to go to St. Louis Community College as it would cost for me to go to Saint Louis University or University of Missouri St. Louis. Which is stupid. So I am going to apply to SLU and UMSL. Who knows what will happen with my education right now. I almost gave up on nursing becuase of all of it though. I seriously considered going to UMR for the Environmental Engineering degree just so I could get out of this town and away from all of these dumb people. So that was the anger, now for the failing... I failed that stupid Nursing Dosage calculation test. I missed 5 you can only miss 2. I get two more opportunities to take it if I want to but I am not going to I don't think... I am so pissed off about how stupid those people in the Financial Aid office are and I told them I wouldn't give them another penny so... I just can't get over it... I am going to bed. Comment!
