Thursday. 5.27.04 8:09 am
Well, maybe not. I read the news today, oh boy... (That's for invisible, she knows all the words to all the songs...well, almost) the news I read was about a three-year-old girl from the U.K. who died from a heart attack caused by obesity http://news.scotsman.com/health.cfm?id=603572004 I hope you give the a read. It especially interested me because I have been following the story aboout the guy who made a documentary about his eating nothing but McD's for thirty days. He almost died and was going to take everyone's advice and quit, but his brother told him...Hell, people it this shit for years, 5 more days ain't gonna kill ya !!! Check out his site... http://www.supersizeme.com/ play the hamburger-eating game...but watch out for the clowns !!!

..just a thought...
Saturday. 5.22.04 4:57 pm
Okay! so how's this for a thought in process...and I guess the backround for this train of thought is both the Palistinian conflict and also the conflict in Iraq...http://apnews1.iwon.com//article/20040522/D82NRSH02.html?PG=home&SEC=news ...now the thought is...the closer you get to death the less complex life becomes...the closer you get to death, the less complex life becomes... Is that what life is...accumulating more and more things to insulate us from the inevitable... ...and could it be that the opposite is true... Take the "T" personality... type T personality n. A personality type that regularly seeks out thrilling or dangerous experiences. Example Citation: I used to skydive off buildings in south county. I've climbed most of the peaks in the Southern California, like Mount Baldy and Mount Whitney. I like to climb them when they're covered with snow. I need the rush. I need the endorphins. I'm a type T personality: thrill seeker. —Gary Copeland, "Who's this?," Orange County Register, November 8, 2002 Notes: We all know the classic type A personality, which was identified in 1959 by the cardiologists Meyer Friedman and Ray Rosenman. But there's a whole type taxonomy out there, of which today's type T personality is but one example. Here's a list of all the personality types I was able to identify (note that many of these require your tongue to be planted relatively securely in the cheek of your choice): Type A — Competitive, driven, stressed, workaholic Type B — Relaxed, patient, friendly Type C — Reticent, unassertive, nice to a fault Type D — Anxious, insecure, gloomy, depressed Type E — High-achieving, perfectionist, everything to everybody Type F — Prone to forwarding e-mail messages Type H — Hostile, hateful Type I — Egocentric Type J — Orderly, neat Type M — Melodramatic Type O — Prone to making spelling mistakes Type P — Persistent Type R — Responsive Type S — Doesn't get enough sleep Type T — Thrill-seeking Type V — Plain, simple (vanilla) Type W — Wacko Type X — Domineering, tyrannical Type Z — Extremely laid back (the "opposite" of a Type A) Earliest Citation: Comedian John Belushi. Gangster John Dillinger. Nobel Biologist Francis Crick. All are classic Type T personalities, and so, fittingly enough, is television's Mr. T. As Psychologist Frank Farley of the University of Wisconsin tells it, many of the world's daredevils, doers and delinquents share a common personality, Type T (for thrill seeking). Whether scientists or criminals, mountain climbers or hot-dog skiers, says Farley, all are driven by temperament, and perhaps biology, to a life of constant stimulation and risk taking. Both the socially useful and the socially appalling Type Ts, he says, "are rejecting the strictures, the laws, the regulations — they are pursuing the unknown, the uncertain." Now, let's make it more complex...type "T"... that is for testosterone, right ?!?! So are women X'ed out of this ? is this a man thing...? But how could something so basic, choosing a path that leads to essence-that is- essentially life and death...be just a man's choice ? But..then..you have to wonder when you read the the following study What Is She Thinking About During Sex? May 21, 11:08 am ET BERLIN (Reuters) - Women watching erotic films are stimulated in a part of the brain associated with planning and emotion, research from scientists in Germany said Friday. When scientists from Essen University put volunteers in a brain scanning tube and showed them pornography they found both men and women showed activity in the temporal lobes linked to memory and perception, but only women used their frontal lobes. Unfortunately the researchers were not able to determine if their findings meant that while men lost themselves in the moment the busy modern professional woman was also planning her wardrobe, scheduling the vacation and juggling her tax receipts. "We don't know why these differences between men and women exist. They just do," said institute director Michael Forsting. ...So..is it all in the Lobes...?!?! Now I am acutely aware of the viscious cycles of violence that can bring all people to an eye-for-an-eye point of view...but I guess what I'm looking at...I guess what I'm searchin' for is what makes people appreciate what they have, be it little or great...what does it take for us...-me- to be grateful (could being good at being grateful be being "greatful" ?) for what we have...however close to death we might be...

Laughing out loud...
Saturday. 5.22.04 8:26 am
Knowing that I had to work today, Saturday didn't please me too much..but Halley, my thirteen-year-old, and still my little angel, begged me to go on her field trip Tuesday. And Ian, my eight-year-old Mr. Destructo has a field trip on Monday, and probably needs his fathes "guidance" you know- stop climbing on that ! leave those folks alone ! Put that T-Rex bone back where you found it!!! Anyway, don't wanna go to work..but I found this article, and it made me laugh out loud..and I hope it brings you that same pleasure... Where Did They Put Their Ticket Stubs? May 21, 11:44 am ET LONDON (Reuters) - Over 80 British students threw caution and their clothes to the wind Friday to set a world record for the number of nudes riding on a rollercoaster. The naked joy riders spent a hair-raising one minute and fifty seconds swooping around the rails of the gravity defying rollercoaster ride at a theme park south of London. A spokeswoman at the park said 81 students from 15 universities took part in the record breaking stunt, which had never been attempted before. .

...this part stumps me...
Saturday. 5.15.04 7:12 am
...because I very seldom have a clue where I'm going when I start off...and I very seldom end up where I might have assumed I would...I guess that could be both blessing and curse...but it's hard to find the yin and yang in all of that... If ignorance is bliss, why does feeling ignorant feel so...shitty ?...where is the bliss...? or is the awareness of your ignorance the growth part...a higher level of...ignorance...the more you learn, the less you know...? And so I was checking in with invisibleand I posed a question-Do you have to have sense to make it ? Well, of course you do. In fact it is a very simplistic statement, so general as to be somewhat interchangeable. That is, for example, " you have to have love to make love"...so simplistic and so general as to be true...but how about..."you have to have money to make money" ? .. here is another shade, another stripe to the animal..for is it not true that we all have a sense that when you get Bill-Gates-rich the money starts to blur...and so you look in the other direction to raise the bar... "he/she started his/her company with only $1,100.00 seed money..." ..he/she started with the least and made the most... So...if you start off with just a little love...you can make just a little love...and if you were somehow able to combine it with another's...well then you would have an improvement...right ? Okay, I warned you I didn't have a clue where I might be going...and if you drifted off somewhere along the way...that's what I was doing,too...
