First school day in Adelaide
Tuesday. 2.28.06 5:28 pm
I felt very tired today, I woke up at 7:30 this morning, and attended 9am class, then come back home, maybe home is a place too confort, I almost fell to sleep. Because no totuials in the first week, so I only had three lectures today.

I've got Classical Myth at 2pm, and it wasn't go very well, coz I couldn't understand the lecture's accent very well, a few times he said page 26, i'd heard 36, and when he said 24, I'd heard 54 etc. and I ain't good at dropped notes, so nothing much I've wrote. But I still understand what he said, that's luck for me.

Media engagement class was hugh, people took all the sit, or perhaps the lecture room is too small for our class, it was exactly same thing I've learnt in diploma, but I ain't daresay I can get good marks. And I was so sleepy in class.

I went back home after school, I ate some food (actually my lunch and dinner) and I've a nap. In dream, I was in a peaceful place, I met those two girls I met in the first day of Uni, one just told me that "you can't make friends here, coz of you pretend to be cool." It was strange, I was complaining dreams don't sent us message in a direct way, and today I've got a very direct message. I dunno am I really pretending to be cool in school, but I dunno any one still, maybe it is just the first day.

Glenelg Beach - the first point to access Australia
Sunday. 1.15.06 10:29 pm
We get up early this morning. Then we had brunch and bought out first DAY TRIP TICKETS on the bus, yeah! This day trip ticket allows you to go around adelaide for the whole day, and it is only $6.5. Well, it is cheap (especially compare to Sydney), because it is too hot, none of us want to walk from home to city. And a 2 sections ticket cost $2, and a tickets from city to Glenelg cost $3.5, if we can come back within 2 hours then we don't need to buy another ticket. We don't think we can, althoguh the weather was bad today.

The Glanelg tram is the old style, they do have a new air-conditioning tram, but every three tram and there is a new one. We like the old one! Oh, no no no, it should be I like the old one! We took the old one, as we don't want to wait long for the new tram, and my family don't mind to take the old one either.

We were surprised to the tram running fast, it is totally different to the old-slowly-tram as running HK, it took only half hour to glenelg. We passed a suburb called black forest, but there was nothing special, couldn't see any shops closed to tram stations, maybe located at other side.

The first thing we saw after we off the tram was the large ocean, and old buildings. There was not much people today, it must be the weather. We took some pictures before we walked close to the sea, and the sea is so pretty, and mighty. The city council done a good job, they builded up a bridge from the beach to sea, so you can 'walk on' the sea. At a moment, i felt so closed to south pole, I have never ever been this close to any pole.

Dad was always thought about the osysters that he tried in Sydney, so he was very concerned any osysters can eat in Glenelg. Sorry dad!!! This is not a fish market, even though it closed to the sea. However we find a shop sell fried osysters and other seafoods, we stayed there for long, because it tasted good, and there was raining outside, and we were hungry.

find a place to live
Saturday. 1.14.06 10:06 pm
Mum was worried that I couldn't find a flat, because there are not much high-rise building in the city, and we don't know any other place in Adelaide. I heard that when she told Natalie this, when they thought I was sleeping, but I actually awake.

Dad suggested me (actually not suggested, they decided already) to ask school accommodation centre to book the hostel or something, and i said that I dislike to live in school hostel as I hate to share, even bathroom and kitchen. And I have all those stuffs keeping in the storage of Sydney, how could I move in hostel with them? And Dad said buy some other here first, and once i find accommodation, you can moved them over. Well, dad, I told you, luckily this is just a suggestion, if I really buy those things again because of living in school hostel, you definately will not happy and say I am wasting money.

Anyway when I look up on newspaper, there was apartment to rent in the city and it is a studio, so I quickly made call, and made appointment to inspection. And then I decided to rent that, because it located in city, I can take the free buses to school. There were some otehr apartments to rent on newspaper, one was located at [black forest], i was attracted by this surburd's name, and phoned to a woman. However, as i've find this studio, so i don't have chance to visit black forest.

We walked around the city, becasue it was 3pm and the weather was bad, we had no where to go. So we back home at night and I find removalist to move stuffs from Sydney to Adelaide, and we can start to plan all our journey.

Everyone is relaxed for finding a place to settle, finally!

Transformation of Goddesses to Gods dominate.
Sunday. 3.19.06 11:44 pm
I am very busy this weekend, because lots of reading. They were reading from last week, and I should not be lazy, now I have to finish two weeks reading in one weekend. (Crying)

However, there is a passages that I¡¦d like to share, it is about the transformation of Goddesses dominate to Gods dominate; the book is called ¡§The Sacred Executioner¡¨ and written by H. Maccoby. And for the transformation, it needs to talk in three stages.

1 Very early stages
Human society depends on the earth for its sustenance, they get food by gathered and killed animals, they weren¡¦t doing any cultivation or forethought (that mean they are stupid or naive). Therefore the thought processes of mankind are like those of an infant at the breast, and the forms of religion centre on the MOTHER.
Hence goddesses dominate in this stage.

2 Early Agriculture Stage
The food sources changed in this stage, the role of man in fertilising the female and working the earth attains more recognition, and the Gods appear as consorts of the Goddesses.

3 Late Agriculture Stage
Technological advanced in this stage, it minimise the importance of magic and enhance male confidence, the era of subduing the female begins, the sky-god, fertilising the earth with his semen or rain, rakes over the leadership of the pantheon. And Gods domination started.

At last, the more confidence man attains in manipulating the world around him, the more the male predominates, since his physical superiority ceases to be overawed by female magic.

First Day in Adelaide
Thursday. 1.12.06 11:55 pm
It is a long trip from Hong kong to Adelaide, because we transfer at Melbourne. Although not the longest trip in my life, it is longer than my recent trips, e.g. Sydney, Japan, etc.

It took 9 hours from Hong Kong to Melbourne, Qanta's in-flight service and environment are much better than before, at least their breads are no longer hard and cold (sorry, the breakfast one was still hard as a stone), the food was acceptable, and had many choices of movie. However, I am more like Cathay pacific and JAL.

Some of the drink powders were not allowed by the custom, they didn't throw in the large bin that they usually do, but in a drawers. I don't want to think this way, but I doubt they will drink it instead. One thing I don't understand, in which way it'll affect Australia if the drink contain milk powder and made in malay?? Is it because as I drank it, and the excrement will affect the country?? And what'll they do to the drink, I believe it will affect Australia too if they bury them. I think Australia Government should do some promotion to let travelers know what they will do to those captured goods, and how they will affect Australia.

We passed Custom, and took 45 mins from Melboure to Adelaide, i was disappointed when I look through the flight window, it was all yellow-ish lands and trees, and I couldn't see any high rise building. I worried where I can find a place to live?

Adelaide is even hotter than Sydney, it is Januray, the hottest month of Australia, but I couldn't breath because of the hot. A university staff pick us up from airport to the place we'd live, she drived the bus around city and introducing the city, I was too tired to listen and talk to her. That was no much on the street, this was the other things that worried me. When we arrived the service apartment, they told us that the room was not ready, and asked us to leave the suitcases there and come back later (crying, sleepy, sleepy, sleepy), but I have chance to see the real Adelaide, finally. It is a beautiful green city (just too hot), and see the parks everywhere.

Felt so tired after the long trip, natalie brought us to Chinatown and Central Market, we walked around and find some funny shops. Actually they are organic grocery, and they sell rices, beans, flour, etc., you can pour whatever you need in bags, and pay in cashier. I raised up in 80s, I went to market with mum when I was child, but I went to supermarket in the last 10 years, and I haven't see this kind of grocery for long time. It may not be strange or interesting to some people, but it is new to me.

I was too tired to walk, so we had lunch and bought some necessary stuffs from supermarket, and back to the apartment to get the key. It took us some time and energy to move the suitcase from the reception to the apartment we'd lived, anyway, we arrived and sleep till evening.

my non-vegetarian meal
Saturday. 9.22.07 4:04 pm
I had lunch in a Japanese cuisine with April.

At the restaurant call Wasai and former known as Genki. We were orginally planned to go SuMo, but it wasn't work at saturday afternoon. I had eel don as they don't provide vegetarian meal, and we shared a seawee salad. I got little stomach-ache, as the eel took the whole day to digest.

It was a hot afternoon and there was no cloud on the sky, although it is only september, I feel like summer has been arrived.

I have to eat some light food from today, because I ate too much heavy food during essay writing. I found I have quite serious of food craving when under stress, I can't help to eat cheese, chips or other food when I am frigue out my thoughts or brainstorming. I don't need the food physically, but they make me feel good psycholoically.

And I need to leave this craving.

I probably need to change my study style for leaving this craving. I admit writing at night is more easy, but it is not healthy alongwith the craving. I think I'm able to write in day time too, just need to try harder.
