Grease2: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,......aaahhhhhhh,yeah, seriuosly this movie scared the crap out of me. It was a veritable laberynth of horror. There's this mysterious biker and he always shows up causing trouble and aparently the people of this small town are so teriffied, that they can only express thier overwhelming horror by breaking into song. They seem certain that this road bound phantom is some sort of demon, when come to find out, IT WAS THE BLONDE GUY THE WHOLE TIME,AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!. I had put a rubber sheet on my bed for a year and a half after this movie, i'll never forget being 22.

An American Werewolf In London: This movie is fucking great. That's all there is to it. Even the title grabs you. Made in 1981, it was written and directed by John Landis, of animal house fame, it became some what of a black sheep of horror movies. It didn't really fit in any horror movie genre because it blended it's many elements so seemlessly. If you look the movie up on IMDB it is described as a Horror/Comedy/Romance/Thriller. I guesse that makes it a Thrilling Horrmancy, or a Romantic Corriller, or....nevermind. The point is that Landis had succeded in making a totally unique movie out of elements that weren't unique at all, some where even pretty played out. I love this movie because it's one of those that never gets old, you laways find something in it that makes you laugh, jump, or want to puke. It's also one of the all time best movies to watch on a date, for some reason alot if girls havn't seen this movie and it's a good one to scare the pants off of them.(not that i do that alot, there's only one girl I like to scare the pants off of and she knows who she is.) The movie is a must see and if you havn't seen it then you've got problems man, seriously.

The Terror:Aaah yes, The Terror. This movie fall into yet another horror genre, the BAD horror movie. In 1963 Roger Corman was making a small horror comedy movie called The Raven with Vincent Price, Boris Karlof, and a young Jack Nicholson. When shooting on the film was done, they found that they had finished a whole week before schedule, something that Corman was notorious for. This gave Corman and Nicholson the idea that since they had another week, why not make another movie using the sets, props, and even the actors from The Raven. Most of the cast was against this but they contractualy bound to shoot for another week. Corman used his clout and forced the actors to be in the movie. He and Nicholson and man named Jack Hill and young director by the name of Francis Ford Coppola wrote up a script and after 2 days the movie was finished. That's right kids, 2 days. Considering the amount of time they spent on the movie, it could have been worse. The movie wound up being like a trick. You watch it because ot looks so damn spooky and you think"man, this is gonna get nuts any second now," but it never does and you've been duped into watching the whole thing. I like the movie because it's so bad it's good, and it's funny to see Jack Nicholson try to be dramatic with that young, nerdy voice of his. You should check this movie out just so you can say you've seen it and if you hate it, well that's no big shocker now is it.

The Lost Boys: Your not gonna hear me say that a movie is perfect, but this one comes close. This is one of my favorite movie's regardless of genre. made in 1987 and directed by Joel Schumacher this movie was the epitome of cool. It was just full of cool things, the beach, motorcycles, underground hotels, amusement parks, stuffed beavers, huge hair, and of course the vampires. The movie apealed to everyone becuause of it's many themes. It tackled youthful rebellion and at the same time said that a family is at it's strongest when they stick together, also the correct way to eat surf punks. I saw this movie when I was 7 and if ihad to give a ballpark figure of how many times I'v seen it, I'd say somewhere in the nieghborhood of 4 gazillion. I know every line and it never gets old. The Lost Boys is the base model for the "cool" horror movies that started and came after the 80's. If you havn't seen it, you should probably pawn your eyeballs.

Note: Today we mourn the passing of Janet Leigh. For those of you who don't know who she was, she was the lucky lady who made classic the shower scene in a little movie called Psycho. She passed on this weekend at the age of 77, she was the mother of actress Jamie Lee Curtis.

Poltergeist: If your a member of my generation, then this movie was an integral part of your upbringing. Made in 1982 and directed by Tobe Hooper, this was a movie for the books. It was big, flashy, and pretty much scared the crappola out of millions of little kids because thier parents thought,"Hey, this is the guy who made E.T." thus burning any number of creepy images into thier kids frontal lobes for years to come. The scene that always got me was when the mom gets man handled up the wall by the big beast ghost, that and that damn clown. The movie left people my age as well as many other generations constantly finishing thier sentences with "...just like that fucking scene in Poltergeist." It proved that a horror movie could be big budget, scary as hell, cerebral and at the same time full of eye candy. If you havn't seen it you are most certainly stunted in some way.

SHALOM, it's me. It's that time of year again guys a ghouls. The air is getting cooler, the leaves are falling, children wander the aisles of Wal-Mart, looking for that perfect kind of fake blood, and teenagers, the oldest eggs available. The pumpin patches are opening up, the haunted houses are being erected, and the holy rolling fart knockers are counting thier pamphlets and reminding us all that, yes, the roads to hell is paved with candy. I'm talking, of course, about my favorite time of year Halloween. If your like me, Halloween will always hold a special place in your heart and so, must it hold a special place on this page. That being said, in anticipation of th ebig night I am going to be having a Halloween Horror Movie Review-a-thon. Twice a week over the next 30 days I will be reviewing some of my favorite horror movies, if you havn't seen some of them, check them out, if you don't agree with my review, go drink some DRANO. This is how I bring Halloween to my Blog, enjoy.

Phantasm: This movie is a must see for any hardcore Halloweener. Made in 1979 and starring a bunch of people nobody had ever heard of, Phantasm was a bench mark in the horror genre. Made for very, very , very little money the movie was still able to grab audiences with it's combination of 70's slasher film attitude and classic hollywood horror style. I saw this movie when I was 14 and it changed my perspective of horror completely. The movie has a little bit of everything, little silver balls that fly around a kill people, grave robbing midgets, a tall creepy old guy that throws coffins around, inter-dimentional travel. you just can't go wrong.
