The Pensieve
Callahan's Law: Shared pain is lessened; shared joy is increased.

The universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is not Narn or Human or Centauri or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope."
"It speaks in the language of trust. It speaks in the language of strength and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors speaking through us and the voice of our inheritors waiting to be born. The small, still voice that says: 'We are one. No matter the blood, no matter the skin, no matter the world, no matter the star. .. We are one. No matter the pain, no matter the darkness, no matter the loss, no matter the fear. .. We are one.' Here, gathered together in common cause, we begin to realize this singular truth and this singular rule that we must be kind to one another. Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light our way to a better future. We are one."
"We are one."

"They aren't as dreadful as the old cells," Illyan objected mildy. "I remember those. Spent a month under arrest in 'em myself, thirteen years ago." He cast a slightly sour smile at Miles. "Something about the Lord Regent's son's private army, and a certain treason charge."

Besides, DS9 had a captain that was actually likable, a shapeshifting security chief, and a tailor who was once the alien version of James Bond.

"I have come to the conclusion that the dashing young knight, who was supposed to ride in on his snow white horse and sweep me off my feet, has apparently become lost in the forest and is too stubborn to ask for directions."

To all my fellow physics students, may your Hilbert spaces be small and your bosons and pi-mesons be heavy. May your quarks have mass, and your lasers stay cool. May your particle accelerators smash with a vengence, and may your grad students graduate before death. To physics, and beyond!

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

Ugh
Friday. 5.6.05 3:45 pm
Well, 3 finals down, just 2 more to go (Thank God I dont have a Saturday exam like my poor roomie!) *sighs* I can't wait to get home...I get to stay for entire week, then come back and take yet more classes. Oh well, my GPA needs a little padding anyway, and its better than working at Food Lion at home *shudders*. So yeah, I spent all night working on my Materials take home final....then had to take my math final...it wasnt too bad, hopefully my prof. will grade generously :) I feel like crap now, unfortunatly. I think I may grab some food and then sleep. Sleep is good....:) Well, hope everyone is doing alright, hang in there, finals are almost over :)

I got a 100 on my aircraft preformance final....at least I have *one* A...hopefully it'll be one of four (Im taking 6 classes right now). I mean it was really easy, but still, I didnt manage to make any stupid mistakes. *does happy dance* We just got course requests back, and next semester (fall), all 6 of my classes are in the same building (Randolph Hall), and 3 of them are in the same room on the same day...so I'll be spending 3 hours from 8-11am MWF in Randolph 221....ugh.

Its snowing in the middle of freakin' APRIL!!!!!!
Sunday. 4.24.05 11:25 am
For crying out loud...snow?? In mid-April? After having a bunch of above 70 days....its just insane....*sighs* I just *love* Bleaksburg weather...and we were supposed to have a nice SWE end-of-the-year picnic too. I was planning to go, but that was before I stayed up til 6am reading "Lady Slings the Booze" (so *thats* why Callahan started his Place *grins*). I did another one of those marathon lets-read-an-entire-novel-in-one-night sessions...I think my last was over winter break with "A Civil Campaign". I really shouldnt do that, since it wreaks havoc with the next few days. Oh well. Now I have to get into the "study until your head explodes" mode, since I have 3 tests, 2 papers, and extra credit all due this week. *sighs* Im thinking of studying for my test that is tomorrow and writing one of the papers, then calling it quits to read or watch TV...

I seem to have some free time...
Saturday. 4.16.05 1:51 pm
...for once. And I dont have a test next week (and there was much rejoicing). So...an update. Technicon was awesome, to say the least...between the anime and panels...and going to dinner with Lois McMaster Bujold, it was much fun. Next time, however, we wont be there *quite* so early, right Lissa? *grins* And DTG was great too, it was great to see everyone and make an idiot of myself in the archery competition. (Thanks Erin!) And of course, to see the Millers get some well deserved awards. So now Im getting back into the "work like crazy" mode before finals. Well, hope to see everyone at Revel, and good luck to those of you who have those dreaded finals coming up. *shudder*

Gorram Drunk People
Sunday. 3.27.05 3:27 pm
So, yeah, Jess and I were walking through the second floor of our hall to go to 7/11. We walk by the laundry room, and a guy steps out and procedes to chase Jess, saying "I like your pigtails"....since it was like 3am,and I was tired, about all I could do was laugh and try to catch up...it was insane. So we decided *not* to walk around that floor late Friday nights...
