All right, so something happened last night that I would never believe happened, and only do believe happened because I was there and I saw it with my own two eyes. KNIGHTS WON THE FOOTBALL GAME!!! It was incredible. The score was 20 - 16. Not much of a lead, but it was enough for us to win. The student section went wild, as you can probably imagine seeing as this was the first home game that our team has won all season, and only the second win in all. To make it even better, it was our Homecoming game. GO KNIGHTS!

Haha. Next game, it'll be back to the same old, "Our team sucks, but let's go to the game and watch them lose anyway."

Yesterday was just a good day in general. [It was my dad's birthday too.] First and second period were boring, but third was different. For Environmental Earth Science, we went stream monitoring to see how healthy this one little stream is. So, the class loaded up on a bus and we went out in the middle of nowhere to do this activity. It was pretty funny, watching everyone else as they fell in the water and tried to act like they understood what they were supposed to be doing. My "team" was in charge of identifying the things that the collection group caught in the canvas netting. That wasn't hard at all, and we had a lot of down time to watch everyone else walk around. There were so many caddisflies in that stupid net, though, that after a while we just stopped counting them. There was a fish in the net after the first collection, and we put it in a bucket of water to let the description group handle [somehow, they were the ones that got to identify the fish, not the ID group]. But, after we came back from our lunch break, the fish had jumped out of the bucket and died.

Fourth period, I sat down in the office and talked with friends and did absolutely nothing. Then, I went home with Shyla so that we could leave from there and go to Mykayla's. That was an experience in itself, because Becky and I were all wound up on the buses, and then Mykayla's was just crazy. We had a good time, as always, and had even more fun as we loaded up in our caravan of cars and finally got the football game. Which we won. hehe.

This morning, I slept in until 12:30. It was great. And then after watching some of the movie Next with Mom and Dad, I came back to my room and started randomly surfing YouTube, and found a comedian by the name of Rob Paravonian. I love it, and I've added a link for him over in my links mod, so if you have time check it out and see what you think. Also, I am going to put a nice little YouTube inset thing here for you guys to click on if you want, or I should say if you have a good internet connection and you can.

morning, evening.

Guy 1: "It's like waking up on a Thursday and thinking it's Friday."
Guy 2: "It's Wednesday, dude."

Haha. I love that commercial. I have no idea what the commercial is for or what it is really about, but I love that part of it anyway. And, it came to mind earlier this evening.

When I got home from school, I was really tired. All I had to do was lie down in my bed for a minute or so and I was out like a light. I wake up, and I was so sure that it was morning. It was dark out, there weren't many lights on. Then, I realize that I can hear the TV out in the living room, and I start listening to the show that was on. Reba. Reba doesn't come on that early in the mornings. Then, it slowly came to me that it was still Tuesday evening.

I felt like and idiot, but what else is new.

monday.

Today, I realized that I literally do nothing at school. I should have realized this earlier, like, within the first week of school. I think I did know that my day includes a lot of down time, but today I actually got to sit back and see it. I have one of the easiest schedules that could possibly be had by a high school senior.

Our school runs on a block schedule, meaning that we have four classes each semester. Two of my classes are basically free periods where I sit around and answer phones or do something else that is meaningless to me but I guess useful and important for the principal and teacher I assist. In my two classes that are actually book classes, we don't do enough to where I could say we do something.

Though, today in Environmental Earth Science, we watched a video about Acid Mine Drainage [AMD] and what part it has played in the damaging of the Cheat River that flows through this area. Apparently, the owners of this one mine thought that they would cut some corners and drain water from it into an older, abandoned mine not far from it. Guess what. That older mind only held so much water before it burt and let all that nasty, orange water flood into a major contributary to the Cheat River. As you can imagine, the acidic water didn't do well for the river and everything living in it. The video went on to explain how they are going about fixing the problem, but I don't feel like typing all that out.

Yeah... that's about it for today.

I really haven't forgotten to update. I've thought about it several times over the last week, but it just seemed like there was never enough time to sit down and post a decent entry. Either that, or I was too tired and just didn't feel like it.

This past week at school was short. We only had to go Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday because we got Thursday and Friday off for the county fair. woohoo! My week really was a lot better. In school we did absolutely nothing. I had to help set up some labs and such for the ninth graders, but that was easy. In my two book classes, again, we did nothing at all. Nothing that I can remember and is worth noting on here, at least.

Thursday, I had to go serve buckwheat cakes at one of the local firehalls. I've served there before, and it wasn't too bad. This time wasn't so bad, either. Until all the people came. For the first hour or so that I was there, the firehall was empty with only one or two people coming in at a time, and none of them choosing to sit at my table. Then, it was like they all rushed in at once. My table was full of people that kept spilling their drinks and ordering more and more buckwheat cakes. I myself do not see the appeal of buckwheat cakes, but whatever. These people freaking loved them and just didn't leave. When they did leave, the stupid little kids that were also working there wouldn't do their job to cleand and restock the tables, so on top of having to wait on people and take orders, I had to do their job too. But, I got sixteen dollars in tips. Not too bad.

On Friday, I got to go out and enjoy the Buckwheat Festival. I usually ride rides, but this year I opted to sit out of that scene and do something different: watch the parade. My mother and I got there early to set up our chairs, then we went and watched the coronation of the new court. After we had sat through most of it, we went to grab something to eat and then we headed back to our chairs. This is where things got interesting.

You see, when we first set out the chairs, we had to put three chairs [the ones for my grandparents and cousin] in one place, and mine and my mom's in another because there wasn't enough room for them all to be together. Well, when we went back up there was enough room, so I went and got the other two chairs and brought them up so we could all sit together. That was all fine and good until these two people came and were outraged because they thought that we had moved their chairs. The wife was mouthy and kept going on and on about how rude it was and blah, blah, blah. Then, she starts saying something like, "Oh look, there's a little handicap girl. Let's go knock her out of her chair so we can sit there." That went right through me, and I turned around and that's where it got bad. My grandparents even got into it, and eventually the husband said to let it go.

Never a dull moment.

After all of that, we watched the parade, then headed out onto the fair grounds. There wasn't a whole lot to do, but we walked around the whole thing a few times, then went and stood in line for the Trent Tomlinson concert. hehe. He put on a really great show. I'll have to put the pictures on here, but anyway, the concert was awesome. [=

Yesterday, Mom and I went and had breakfast with my Groovy [aka, my grandma], then headed out to the mall and met up with our cousin Jenny. Today, we sat around and did nothing, which I was very thankful for. Tomorrow is back to school, but that's okay.

the weekend.
Sunday. 9.23.07 8:28 pm
All right, so my week didn't exactly get a lot better after that bad day of mine. Thursday didn't seem so bad, other than three more gold fish ended up getting flushed. I did manage to crack my elbow off of a window seal and trip over a few book bags, but that all seemed harmless enough. Everything was going good. The final bell rang, dismissing students from fourth period to go and find their bus. I was walking with my friend, Cody, and all I did was step off the sidewalk and down I went. I twisted my ankle pretty good, and there's a huge scrape on my knee. Great.

Friday went okay. I kept forgetting about my knee, though, and would lean on it the wrong way or something to cause myself a great deal of pain. I was almost afraid of going to the football game Friday night, but I went and guess what. I didn't hurt myself! Some idiot kept kneeing me in the back, but other than that, I went without harm. The game was actually kind of good, too. Knights still lost, but we held off the other team really well, the score ending up 0 to 19. That team could have really slaughtered us, too, so one of two things happened. Either our team was really putting up a good fight and holding them back, or the other team just sucks this year. I'm going to lean toward the second, though I wish it were more like the first.

My friend Shyla came home with me from the game so she could go to a horse show with me on Saturday. With the kind of luck I was having, I was worried about going to that, too, but we actually did really well. I got first place in the open trail class, and placed in all but one of the other classes that I was in. And it was all because of a lucky penny I had in my pocket the entire time. Haha. At least, that's what I told Shyla, any way.

This morning, Shyla and I got up and watched We Are Marshall, a great movie that I reccommend to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. But, be prepared and take some tissues with you because this one is a tear jerker. After Shyla left, I finished my 4-H project for the upcoming county fair, and now I'm just enjoying some free time before I head off to bed and then back to school tomorrow.

And that's the life of me news update.

so you had a bad day.
Wednesday. 9.19.07 8:26 pm
Yeah, I had a bad day. It all started when I pulled some muscle in my chest while trying to move this stupid table that some idiot put in front of the filing cabinet that I needed to get to. So then once I get to this cabinet, I end up smashing my fingers in the drawer while attempting to close it.

The principal needed his office for some sort of private meeting, meaning I wasn't allowed to be there. I decided not to waste time sitting on the floor of the hallway and went up to the class where I'm usually at for fourth period. Caity is a student aide for that teacher first period, so we got to work together. woohoo. First, we cleaned pop up off of the teacher's desk that some freshman had spilled everywhere, and then we got to catch gold fish out of a tank for the students' experiment. Long story short, a fish ended up dead. And then when Caity went to flush it, there were difficulties.

Second period went okay. Nothing too bad except for me almost falling asleep. Third period I got to play student aide again while the rest of the class went outside. I had to deliver papers, and I kept tripping and almost busting my face while going up the stairs. Not to mention that a few of the teachers I had to give papers to were pretty scary.

At lunch, Caity and I were just trying to do a simple high five, and it ended in a lot of pain for my poor middle finger. That pain continued all through fourth period, and mixed in with the pain in my chest from earlier that morning and then I got this head ache.. It was great. haha.

So there are my complaints for the day. Hope you enjoyed it. =P
