I may be behind the times... but I just discovered blip.fm

And I love it. Not only do I get to hear aaaaall the music I like, but I also get exposure to NEW music that I like.

Like, I completely forget about the prettiness that is Gentle Waves' "Falling From Grace" and also the genius that is April March's "Chick Habit," a song that will always be endeared to me because I will forever have the image of Rosario Dawson drop kicking Kurt Russell right in the face when I hear it.

Death Proof. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's got chicks driving vintage cars, Kurt Russell as THE VILLAIN (always a delight), too much dialogue, kick-ass stunts and cool music. Oh, and Sydney Poitier, daughter of... Sidney Poitier. Weird that he'd name his daughter after himself, but oh well, he's an amazing actor.

Here's a little video you can watch to convince you of it's coolness. And the coolness of "Chick Habit" which you can also find in French. yeet.

Now I live in Ruston, Louisiana with Edward and I have no job and no monies. However, I've had two job interviews and I'll have another in the next few weeks.

I've started a tumblr site for photos:

Dagmar is full grown, as you may notice in one of the pictures. I had to take a blogging break to focus on me and work and Edward and all of that...

Now it's back to business.

It is completely possible that by this time next year I'll be living in Ruston, Louisiana. Louisiana Tech is located in Ruston and Edward may be attending graduate school at LA Tech as early as March. I could possibly join him after August, once I've completed ONE ENTIRE YEAR of work in "the real world" as an "adult." Yowza. I don't think I want to live there. It's a dry county and it's probably the same exact city as Auburn, only located in buttfuck nowhere Louisiana. I imagine PR jobs aren't easy to come by in RUSTON. What to do, what to do...

New Year's Eve was very super fun. I went to Atlanta with nine of my friends (Edward not included because he doesn't like Atlanta or Hot Water Music, the band we all went to see; party pooper). We split two hotel rooms. My friend Mike and I were the only two without significant others. But it was fine. My lady friends gave me kisses on the cheek at midnight. The show was great. Hot Water Music killed it and a band that opened for them, The Bastard Suns, were amaaaazing. The singer for Avail apparently played but not only do not I know who/what Avail is, I don't care to know. Because that guy's music was boring as shit. Sorry Avail fans. My friend Wes woke up and peed in a chair. A chair that my favorite cardigan just happened to be in. Thanks Wes. Love you, mean it.

Christmas was fun. Got to see the fam for a week. My little sister fucked up my car. LOVE HER. She hydroplaned into a curb at 3 in the morning. Tsk. Luckily it was easily fixed and I didn't have to pay for it. I did get stranded in Birmingham for a day because of it, but that was okay because Edward and I went and saw Slumdog Millionaire and I loooved it. Ch-check it out! If you can. I know it's not playing everywhere because I was going to see it when it opened but it wasn't playing in Auburn. SURPRISE.

I start work tomorrow. Yikes. I hope things went well while I was gone. We were only open a few days between Christmas and New Year's so I doubt I missed a whole lot. Let's cross our fingers and hope that: 1. I didn't do something stupid before I left that I'm going to be in trouble for tomorrow and 2. that I don't have a whole mess of shit to do all day. Yes, let us hope.

I know it's been too long since I've written anything. But it turns out once you graduate from college and get a job, life gets a little boring and tedious. I don't think anyone wants to hear about my day. Unless they're interested in hearing mecomplain about phone etiquette or how cold my office is. But doesn't everyone with an office job complain about those things?

Let's see... I'm back in the short hair club. I had a very fun weekend about a month ago in Atlanta. Got to see some of my cherished Gourmaybe friends. They went and got grown-up jobs too. Weirdness.

I might go back to Atlanta for New Year's Eve. Hot Water Music is having a show at The Masquerade and all of my Auburn friends are going. I think I like Hot Water Music. I'm sure I'll have fun whether or not I like the music. Friends are what make a great time. We were going to stay in a cheap hotel but we read reviews about blood in the showers and bugs in the beds. $50 bucks a night DID seem a little strange. We'll have to shell out a little bit more to avoid disease. Worth it.

I managed to get two entire weeks off of work for Christmas. I can't wait to go home and do NOTHING. I'll be taking Dagmar with me. It should be a treat having him in the car for 3 hours. I'll update you all on that fun adventure.

I saw Role Models and it was HILARIOUS. My parents stayed at my place for Thanksgiving which made me feel like a super adult. Credit cards are dangerous. An Amazon seller is trying to rip me off. My hot water heater is tiny which makes for miserable, cold mornings due to lack of warm, steamy shower time. Dagmar is getting huge and more bastardy every day, I love him. Edward is Edward. I made the most delicious pasta carbonara ever the other day and I'm still pretty proud of myself (even though a bought way too much pancetta and have no idea what I'm going to do with it). I've started going to the gym and I HATE IT. I bought a BlackJack II and I LOVE IT.

There, now you're all caught up on me.

I was going to write a blog about the upcoming elections and ask lots of questions that I find pertinent to the current campaigns. However, I'm too fucking burned out on the entire thing to sit here (at work, eek) and go on a rant about the relevance of some dumb woman's wardrobe costs or whether or not Barack Obama is really friends with a "terrorist."

Let's move on to Halloween. I was once told Halloween was Satan's birthday. What a laugh.

What are you going to dress up as? Are you going to gorge yourself on candy? Or (like me) beer? Are you anti-Halloween? Why is that?

THESE are the important questions! Let's talk about the issues here. Every year I see fewer and fewer carved pumpkins. I live in a neighborhood with children and have yet to see one! What's the deal? Are we no longer practicing this long held tradition? I mean, I'm not carving one this year but that's only because I can't afford a pumpkin. Isn't that sad?

I guess I can afford one. I just don't want to have to buy one. Going to the grocery store is such a HASSLE. I can't stand it. People are so pushy nowadays. That's why I go late at night. Not too long ago I was at Kroger at about 11. At night. I got behind a young man in line who was wearing a mechanic's jumpsuit. But it was reddish-pink. With the sleeves cut off. With teal Chucks. And he had long tangly hair. Would you like to know what he bought? Okay. I'll tell you. He bought a box of fried chicken and a box of magnum condoms. Mmmmm, chicken and condoms. I saw him a few nights later at a gas station wearing a long broomstick skirt. I hope the rednecks in the gas station didn't beat him up.

Okay, okay. I shouldn't be sitting here writing a blog about Halloween and the freaks who dress up early and buy weird shit at Kroger when I'm getting paid to answer the phone.

It's not ringing much today. Architects don't like to work on Fridays, which is totally fine with me.

Anyway. Feel free to join in my Halloween discussion. I'm curious as to what you all are doing this year and why you hate Halloween so much. Don't tell me it's Satan's birthday. It's not.

I have cable and internets, yaaaay!

Dagmar went and broke his foot on me, so a big chunk of my paycheck went to paying his vet bill. Totally worth it though.

I got furniture for my house. I have an extra bed, two couches and a kitchen table with chairs. And it was all FREEEEEEE. Which is fabulous. A girl I was friends with moved away and left all her furniture in her condo and then decided she didn't need it. So now I have it. And I love it.

I was hanging out at Edward's last night and his neighbors had a party. They shaved some poor guys eyebrows off. Seriously, who does that? To their own friend? Who paid for the keg they were all drinking off of? Shameful.

When my mom was pregnant with my sister and I, she and my dad nicknamed us Savage Storm and Bunny Wonderful. Somewhere, in downtown Portland, there's a brick with our fetus nicknames on it. I want to find it.

I love living alone.

My friends Ashley and Nicole are making me read the Twilight series. After that I'm going to read Alice In Wonderland. I've never read it for some strange reason. I just finished A Confederacy of Dunces and absolutely loved it. I recommend.

I think when I get paid next month I'm going to buy a new digital camera. It's time.

I can't wait for Halloween. I'm going to wear a read striped shirt, black capris and a beret so I look like a stereotypical "French" person. I'm also going to paint on a stereotypical "French" mustache and walk around speaking French all night. And I'm going to carry around a baguette. Maybe I'll dress Dagmar up like a French poodle and carry him around too. No, I won't. That would be mean.

Lastly, I've decided to embrace my total nerdiness and decorate my guest room in framed, vintage Star Wars posters, like these:
