Good Times
Sunday. 5.16.04 11:11 pm
OK .. blog time. Lot of stuff happened in the past few days. Yesterday was the ARGS prom. Picked up Twyla, Heather, and Tammi to head out to dinner and then to the prom. Prom was really really fun. Got to see a bunch of people from ARGS that were there (obviously ``) but also a few others, like Robert Tench and Anna-Marie for example. Both of them stopped by real quick to say hi. That whole evening went by so fast. In the blink of an eye it was over. They say time flies when you're having fun and guess they were right. I was sad to see that night end. I couldn't have imagined having more fun or spending it with anyone more special.

Oh ... and that poor soul at the restaurant that had to clean our table. Hehe. At least we made the tip interesting. Ask if you want to know. ``

Today I went with Twyla, Tammi, and Cricket to Richmond for the Y101 concert. That was nothing but fun as well. Met some other people that I knew there from ARGS. Saw Robert Tench ... *again*, he's everywhere! `` And strangely enough saw Dave, the guy that lived across from me in my dorm at UVA! Isn't it a small small world! That was kind of cool. The bands were really good. Personally I hadn't heard of any of them except for the headliner Puddle of Mudd. The best part of the concert is a close tie between three things. One was Puddle of Mudd singing their final song "She F***ing Hates Me". They got some people from the crowd to come on stage and sing along with the band. Hearing hundreds of people jumping and yelling screaming "she f***ing hates me!" at the top of their lungs was definitely a sight to be seen. Good stuff. Another candidate was the rain. Maybe two hours or so after we got there it started to drizzle. Then the drizzle turned to a steady rain and then the rain turned into a storm. Lasted maybe half an hour to 45 minutes I'd say. What made it fun was staying out in it, walking around watching everybody else running and splashing around and everything. Then when we were waiting for Puddle of Mudd to come out, it started raining again. Slightly ironic if you ask me. Needless to say my tshirt was still damp when I got home after it was over. But nobody melted (a plus) and you rarely get a chance to just walk around in the rain. Opportunity taken.

Here's a pic from the concert for your enjoyment.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Running Around
Friday. 5.14.04 11:16 pm
Had a fairly good day today. It was my dad's day off from work, so me and him had breakfast at Shoney's. Then we went to Richmond to help one of his friends pick up a bookcase from Haverty's furniture since it wouldn't fit in his car. Then I helped him set it up in his house. After that ... hmm. Well we were just driving home, but then my dad gets a call from Mr. Richardson at the A of RGS with 3 error codes that keep popping up on the main server. Hehe. So we have to run into his work so he can look up the error codes and try to help. That was interesting.

Basically just chilled at home the rest of the day until after dinner. I went out to the mall to pick up my tux for tomorrow. Then went to Prince George High School to watch their performance of Footloose. My brother was in it, played Principal Clark. Don't worry if you don't know who that is. I had never seen the play either until tonight. And actually I thought it was pretty good. Then came back home and had some Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. Phish Food. Actually Chunky Monkey is my favorite, but the commissary was out of it so Phish Food will have to do. It isn't bad. The marshmallow bits are the best part. ``

Random conversation:

Rick: a magazine I saw today
Rick: questioned the authenticity of Brad Pitt's biceps
Rick: I did not read it
Rick: I do not know the veracity of their claim
Rick: but it has been made
Me: are you seriously telling me that everything i see in movies may not in fact be the truth?
Me: i refuse to believe it
Rick: yeah
Rick: most of it is true
Rick: but sometimes they cheat a little
Me: hehe
Me: something tells me those nazgul were *not* in fact real
Rick: no
Rick: those were real
Rick: one of them lives on my block
Me: hmm, i must not got to the zoo enough
Rick: yeah
Rick: they're there
Rick: don't put your hand through the bars, though
Me: those "don't feed the animals" signs take on a whole new meaning
Rick: yeah
Rick: "no really, you don't want to"
Me: "seriously, don't"
Me: "Attention: Zoo officials will not be held responsible for any and all missing limbs and/or organs lost while trying to befriend the mythical evil fallen kings of Gondor. We regret for any inconvience this may cause."
Rick: but when you see duck billed platypi in movies?
Rick: that's fake
Rick: those things don't exist
Rick: what a dumb idea
Rick: what is it, a duck, or a muskrat?
Me: it could be a survival trait .... "Oooh, you're making muskrat for dinner." "No honey, this is a duck." "I believe you're mistaken this is most certainly a muskrat." "Put your glasses on Frank its a duck"
Me: meanwhile the little guy slips out the pet door and back to safety
Rick: you know,
Rick: it's not the same without the voices I know you're giving to each person
Me: yes, and you *know* i'm giving them voices, hahaa
Rick: yeah
Me: lol

Short and Sweet
Thursday. 5.13.04 11:07 pm
I've noticed how my days since getting back have been much more uneventful. But that's not to say I had a boring day today. Actually very enjoyable. =)

Prom is in just two days. Getting excited. That should be a real fun night.

Nothing In Particular
Wednesday. 5.12.04 3:10 pm
Just sitting at home right now. Not doing anything. And it feels great! I haven't done nothing in a long time. It will soon get boring I'm sure, but for right now just taking some time to relax is pretty cool.

Oh, I stumbled upon this site the other day and found it strangely amusing.

Edit:
------------------

Another pointless, but rather amusing site.

And I saw this on a few other people's sites so I decided to try it out myself:

Christopher is the #11 most common male name.
1.035% of men in the US are named Christopher.
Around 1267875 US men are named Christopher!

Just serves as a reminder that you're unique, just like everybody else. ``

From School
Tuesday. 5.11.04 3:14 pm
This entry I'm writing from school. No not UVA, but from ARGS. The good old AR of GS. (My high school) Came back to visit and see people. I came back yesterday and today. Why two days you ask? Because I wanted to, hehe. Seeing all my teachers and the current students that I know like Twyla, Elijah, Damien, Jermaine, and others. It's fun. I thought I would see Scott here today, aka finallyfoundareason, though I didn't see him here. Saw lots of other people though. My first two weekdays after leaving college and I spend them at my high school. Guess I must like the place. ``

I can't get to many of you people's blogs from here. DDR scores waaaay too high. Here's the current numbers if you're curious.

Home Sweet Home
Sunday. 5.9.04 10:21 pm
Well ... I'm back! Home that is, and online. Couldn't get online yesterday but for a minute to send an email, so that's why I wasn't on ... and why I didn't write an entry. Once again I apologize for all the coma patients. ``

Moving out was quite an experience. I thought first of all that not that many people would be left the last day. Wrong. And second I figured that not that many people would be there moving out at 8 am on a Saturday morning. Wrong. Cars were parked up and down the street with parents and students carrying clothes, lamps, bookcases, and everything else under the sun. All trying to fit everything into their cars, which of course took a little effort. Some cars seemed to have just as much strapped to the roof as they had in the trunk. Did manage to get everything into both cars we brought. Getting everything from the room to the cars was the hard part though. Fighting through all the other people. But it wasn't all too bad.

So now I'm home. Very nice to be home. Not to be cliche, but there really is no place like home. Had a fairly busy day today. Went on a lot of errands. PX, commissary, mall, circuit city, and target. Then later went and played some tennis. Also watched the movie Big Fish today. It is a really good movie. Very touching ending. Anyway, lol.
