Gregory cracks me up...
Saturday. 4.7.07 11:30 pm
We were playing with him on the bed and Brian gave him a HUGE kiss, and this is the face that Gregory made after Brian did that:

We laughed it off and thought maybe it was a fluke, so I kissed him and he didn't make that funny face. Brian kissed him again, and he made this face:

and then this one:

SO, now we know he does it on purpose. He kept doing it and we kept laughing (obviously, Gregory associated us laughing with him making that funny face).

Anyway, thought I would share because it cracked me up.

HAPPY EARLY EASTER FOLKS...will be in Colorado Springs all day tomorrow. Have a great day!

It's a shitty day...
Friday. 4.6.07 10:13 am
You know...I was getting used to the 70 degree weather and blue skies and no clouds. A warm wind every now and then...maybe even a cold wind. BUT NOW, we've got rain...rain that is maybe going to turn into snow. It's supposed to be here today...even tomorrow. Supposed to be 50 on Sunday. In a way, I'm sort of happy that Gregory's not old enough to go Easter Egg hunting. Next year, when he is, the weather better be nice...or we're gonna do it in the house (haha)...okay, I'm thinking like people in Washington. Since it rained all the time, we got used to doing lots of stuff in the house.

Do do doooo...I'm waiting for my e-mail to delete some stuff. I got the nice notification that my box is close to exceeding its storage limit and I better delete some stuff before it's too late. SO, I'm in the process of deleting stuff and it's taking forever. It says that I have 7 minutes remaining...7 minutes of me not being able to use my e-mail to do anything...and I sort of need my e-mail.

I took Gregory to get his picture with the Easter Bunny last night...and, well...I decided against it. One, Gregory was sleeping. Two, they wanted $20 to get a small photo package with 2 pictures in it...YEAH FREAKIN' RIGHT! I decided to reprint some pictures that I got done at Kiddie Kandids and then Brian and I went out to eat dinner at the Village Tavern. I love the Village Tavern. We had yummy bruschetta (it's about the best around) and I had a good bacon-chicken burger type thing with pasta salad. Brian decided to get some porkchops. Then we both got some creme brulee (the world's best dessert!). I haven't had creme brulee in a long time, so it was so yummy. I wish I would have had 4 little dishes of creme brulee and just skipped the whole entree. Dinner would have been more satisfying that way, ya know...haha

Anyway, 4 more minutes left...4 minutes...*snore*

My mom's going to be out here in 2 weeks! WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait. I haven't seen her since February (the end of it)...so I can't wait for her to see Greg and how big he has gotten :)

But, I should be going now...2 minutes left...2 minutes too long.

I was driving to work yesterday and I was listening to the radio and they had mentioned something about the article below (it's a segment titled "Stupid Stories"):

Georgia Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Raping Daughter in Cemetery

Saturday , March 31, 2007

ATLANTA —
A judge sentenced a man to life in prison for raping his own daughter in a cemetery.

The man, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim, was convicted of the March 10, 2006, incident on Friday. Just days after his daughter's 16th birthday, the man took her to a graveyard and told her to lie down.

"You're know you're old enough to date boys now," he told her. "I'm about to break you in."

He took out a condom and raped her, and he later brought her back to the cemetery and sodomized her, Fulton County prosecutor Kimberly Esmond Adams said.

The jury did not convict him on the sodomy charge. With prior convictions for drug and weapon charges, the man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 20 years, for rape and incest.

During the sentence hearing Friday, the daughter sobbed as she spoke to her father for the first time in a year: "I got so depressed that I wanted to kill myself. How could someone I trust to protect me and I knew all my life do something as evil and dirty as this?"

Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter told the man he has no sympathy for him.

"You did this to your daughter twice once in the graveyard and then again in the courtroom," Baxter said.

I totally can't believe that...the fact that he said "I'm about to break you in" is just completely disgusting...

They were commenting on why they didn't just kill this guy but how he's just going to sit in jail and rot for the rest of his life. I'm sure he'll get what's coming to him in jail, but seriously...WHAT THE HELL?!?!

WHY?!
Monday. 4.2.07 9:06 pm
I'm addicted to Dancing with the Stars! I hate dancing...and I don't particularly like watching dancing, but I'm watching this show...and I do it every Monday!

Oh well...

Nothing eventful happened today. I went to work...went outside and it was warmer (about 70 degrees)...went back to work...had a little training thingy with our new system that we're moving to...then I left work about 45 minutes after I was supposed to leave (thank heaven for overtime)...

Couldn't pick up Greg because traffic was horrendous, so I had Brian do it.

Now, I lounge around, at home...bored out of my mind.

Tomorrow, we're having an easter egg decorating contest at work. We'll see how that turns out...I want to do a flamingo or something, but I don't know how I'd get my egg to stand up like flamingos do...

I'll have to think about it...

OH, from a few entries ago, someone (I think it was Nuttz) asked what SIDS was. SIDS stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and it's where babies will be sleeping and then they'll just suddenly die for no reason. They could be perfectly healthy babies...not sick or anything...and they'll go to bed and die. No one has found out what causes SIDS, so they can only assume that certain things can prevent SIDS (i.e. putting your baby on their back to sleep versus on their stomachs, not laying them on fleece/wool blankets, etc.)...but nothing is guaranteed to prevent SIDS.

If ya'll like music and free radio stations based on the music you like, check this website out:

Pandora

You basically pick a band or a song that you like and it makes a radio station based on the style and whatnot of the band that you like matching it with similar bands that you might like that sound close to the original band you put in there...phew...I hope that all makes sense.

Ugh...
Sunday. 4.1.07 12:13 am
Today was eventful.

I left with my friend Melissa at about 10am to go get my photo magnets from Kiddie Kandids. They turned out fantastic! We ate at Panda Express and walked the mall for a while.

After that, it was to Babies R' Us and I got him a teething blanket (he likes to suck on his burp rag...so I figured this teething blanket might be a good thing since it's sort of like the burp rag)...Melissa got him some baseball outfits. They're cute...

Then, Melissa and I went bowling. It made me want to join a bowling league, but we'll have to see about that...it probably won't be anytime soon that I'll be doing that.

After that, we went to the scrapbook store and I got some scrapbook stuff. I'm making Gregory his own little scrapbook, so I had to get some stuff for it. After that, I went to Melissa's to actually scrapbook for a little while.

Before I went to Melissa's, I dropped Gregory off so I could be alone and uninterrupted while scrapbooking. Brian was there with him. I told him he could go out later with his friends since he'd be watching him for a while (to be honest, I've been out with Gregory all day and I got up with him all last night...so he really didn't need anything extra special to watch him for a few hours by himself).

At about 8:45, he calls me and asks me when I'm gonna be home because he's going to go out tonight and I told him to give me a call when he was going to leave and I would come home (Melissa lives about 2 minutes from my house). He calls me at 9:30 (I was in the parking lot at my apartment building) and tells me that they [his friends] are leaving right now, so me getting home was perfect timing.

Figuring that he'd leave when I walked in, it was fine. No, he sits around until 10pm before he leaves. He makes it sound like he's in a huge hurry to leave by calling me at 9:30 and then he sits there until 10! I was like "I thought you were leaving" and he gets all snappy with me telling me that he was burning a CD. I didn't know he was burning a CD...so I get my head ripped off for that?

I think he was just upset me with me because I got in an argument with him about babysitters. He thinks by leaving Gregory with someone we know will make him be safer than leaving him with a stranger. He's true in some respects, but...let's say, for example, that our son is at a babysitter (Brian's parents house, their friend from work, a stranger, etc.) and he is eating something and starts to choke. Do you think he would have the same likelihood of choking to death that he would at home or with someone else that we know or a complete stranger? Yes...

He wanted to argue with me about that and he's used to me just letting him win when he's wrong, but I set him in his place. He is no safer at home than he would be at someone else's house. Granted, his parents will probably keep a better tab on him, but seriously...babies die of SIDS at home and away from home regardless of how loving and watching the people are that are taking care of them. It sucks and it's sad, but seriously...

I'm just so irritated right now. I was in a good mood until that...sometimes I wish he'd just leave me alone sometimes.

It's Wednesday...
Wednesday. 3.28.07 2:20 pm
and I haven't really posted an entry for a little bit.

Things have been hectic with work and all. I actually went back full time on Monday, so it's been really stressfull and hectic. Yesterday, I just wanted to murder someone...so I got out of the office before I went CRAZY.

But yeah...other than that, nothing is really new with me. Little Greg's at his grandma's house on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. He's going to be with someone that his grandma works with on Thursdays and Fridays until Brian switches to his new shift where he'll have Friday off. Then he'll just need someone on Thursdays in the afternoons.

Poor little guy...I feel bad leaving him with someone all day, but I have to. I need to make money...Brian needs to make money...I just keep telling him that mommy works to buy him toys. We'll see what he says when he gets older.

Last night, we got home and the cute little guy just wanted to play and play and play. Granted, we got home at about 9pm so we probably shouldn't have been playing with him and all, but it was so hard to resist. He's getting to the point that almost everything that we do or say to him, he gets a little smile on his face. He likes it when we change his clothes for some reason. He thinks it's SOOOO much fun. He's got the biggest open mouthed grin on his face. He loves being a little naked boy with his diaper on. I think he's going to be one of those kids who likes to run around in just a diaper. I hope not, but you never know.

Anyway, that's my little update...
