film
Tuesday. 10.24.06 6:54 pm
Today was a sad day for me. All I wanted to do was get this film developed. I thought about it all day and I was really excited because I remembered the entire set of amazing photo’s I had taken. I didn’t realized that the film wasn’t rolling up when I was twisting the lever and so when I popped the back open all the film was exposed. I was extremely sad and mad and thought it must have been because the battery died but I didn’t think that affected winding the film up.
For some reason I felt like that roll would get me excited about photography again but it just made me sad.
So I have been sad…. I want to take a nice hot bubble bath and read “True Believer” but alas I can’t because I am at school. And you would be crazy to take a bath in these tubs. CRAZY!
So now I am going to sit on my fuzzy blanket on my futon and read about the horrible way the USA treated Japanese Americans in WWII. A real up beat book to read huh??

safe
Monday. 10.23.06 7:37 pm
I love my dorm room. I feel 100% safe when i am behind this door. Like no one can bug me and the worries of school and everything else just stop when i walk in here. It's funny though because in my room is where i do all my work.
I think i feel this way today because it is just so very cold out and when i walked into my warm cozy room and saw that i has choc coco i can make i was so very happy.
thought i would tell some other people about how awesome my room is.
Now i am off to study are for this week's classes.

war
Friday. 10.13.06 1:29 am
Today I saw an amazing movie. I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie that really moved me. The movie I saw was called “Flags of our Fathers” and I think everyone should see it. There is no love story involved; it is just an amazing depiction of what one group of men went through in WWII. The movie was directed by Clint Eastwood, and the way it was filmed gave me chills at points.
I know the basic story of WWII, not a whole lot because for some reason out schools think that knowing every move our found fathers made is more important than a war that still affects us today. I know that many people died but for some reason this movie showed me exactly how random the carnage was… It was simply luck that you lived and the person next to you died. People didn’t shoot at the person they shot at the mass moving toward them. There was no reason for why your best friend died and you didn’t… I never realized this completely until tonight and I was so moved I was in awe of what was unfolding on the screen before me.
I can not imagine wanting to get shot in the leg, or arm or chest….because then I could be sent home and not be blown to pieces.
The devastation that those men saw must have been unreal, and something I will never truly understand. People never talk about things like this because it is too hard for them. But I believe that everyone should know what happens in war… If people really knew what went on…maybe just maybe there wouldn’t be so much war.
Maybe if Bush himself was put in a Marine’s shoes for a week he would sent our men home a little sooner. Maybe if it was his little darling twins over in Iraq he would end this pointless war and realize he has simply just royally fucked a generation of young people. Bush knows nothing of the harsh reality of war.
A friend of mine went to the movie with me and we were talking about how generations are labeled and eras are given titles later on in history. I believe it is very possible that we will be known as the “Terrorism Era” that word seems to be some magic word that makes this war okay.
We are fighting to prevent future terrorism.
The truth of every war eventually comes out in the end. When we are 50 yrs old we will know the real reasons behind this war and we will see how crazy it is to have some of our liberties taken away in the name of “Homeland Security”.
And then we will go to see a movie about the war in Iraq and see that it wasn’t at all what we think it is now. No war is ever what people think it is.
I liked the idea in the movie about how a picture can kill or save a war. This film focused on the photo of the 6 men raising a flag at a huge battle in WWII and how it saved the war effort. They mentioned how the photo of a solider shooting a man in the head killed the war in Vietnam.
I realized that event has already happened with this war, the photo’s of the torture of Iraqi prisoners was the turning point in this war. And now we are just trying to make it look like it was worth all the dead, destruction, and money.
But really nothing is worth the end of so many lives…nothing.

Love
Friday. 10.13.06 1:03 am
Love means:
*Calling just to hear her voice.
*Saying sorry every time you hurt her feelings.
*Kissing her like you haven’t seen her in years as an hello.
*Knowing when to be silent and just hold her in your arms.
*Wiping away her tears.
*Protecting her from pain.
*Never belittling her.
*Ordering the pepperoni pizza even though you like the sausage.
*Driving to see her at 2am because you miss her.
*Getting jealous of the people who see her more then you do.
*Smiling when you think of her.
*Watching her sleep because of how peaceful she looks.
*being honest.
*being open.
*talking about things she loves to talk about even if you hate the subject.
*Being better off with her in your life.
*Writing her love letters for no reason at all.
*Remembering the good times and letting go of the bad.
*Trying new things for her.
*Surprising her.
*Working hard.
*Holding hands while you drive.
*Never going to be angry.
*Thinking she is beautiful in sweats and t-shirt.
*Everything.

Belts
Tuesday. 10.10.06 9:33 pm
Well I have a question for the world. What on earth is up with this new trend in the fashion world? I believe you all have seen it.
The girls wearing fitted shirts and 3 inch belts at around the same place their belly buttons are. No where near their belt loops that appear on their pants.
Who started this eye sore of a trend?? And more important why are people following it?? And the belts in question are very ugly I have seen huge red shinny ones that just cut the person in half.
This trend may even rival the one from last winter, the Ugg (not sure how to spell the brand) boot trend. And why so many girls decided winter boots looked oh so cute with mini skirts….
I wonder sometimes if the youth of America have eyes, and why if they do so few seem to use them. They see some person like Paris Hilton wearing some hideous outfit and automatically think it is cute. But if their friend had worn it first they would have laughed and said she was on the worst dressed list.
The girls that follow these horrid trends are simply lemmings…
