// My Website Lyrics of the Moment
In my fantasy I'm a pantomime I'll just move my hands and everyone sees what I mean Words are too messy And it's way past time To end in my mouth Paint my face white and tried Reinvent the sea One wave at a time Speak without my voice and see the world by candlelight I ain't afraid to let it out I'm not afraid to take that fall But I have found beyond all doubt We say more by saying nothing at all In my fantasy no such thing as time Minutes bleed into days Avant garde Show me your heresies And I'll show you mine We only speak in pantomimes on this carpet ride I ain't afraid to let it out I'm not afraid to take that fall But I have found beyond all doubt We say more by saying nothing at all In my fantasy you look good entwined In my hair and skin and spit and sweat and spilled red wine You're my deep secret I'm your pantomime I'll just move my hands I promise you'll see what I mean Incubus : Pantomime Shows!

Friday. 8.19.05 5:51 pm I just bought a pizza and some cheesy bread from Dominos. When I was living in Petersburg, there wasn't one near, so I never ate there. They're pretty good. *drool* Cheese pizza with extra cheese. CHEEEESE! Yummy! I got my check and deposited it and other money into Brian's account. I'm trying not to spend much money until I visit Virginia in a week, but I bought a pack of batteries to put in my camera. I want to take some pictures to give Mom a better idea of where I live. Also, I want to take pictures of the WONDERFUL paintings Shane made last night. He's preparing for an art show, and I watched him do one last night. I was amazed. He did it from a blurry photo of a tattoo and the painting looks even better. He told me if I find something for him to paint, he'd do it for me, I'd just have to let him hang it for his art show. I want the damn dragon! lol, Oh well. Hopefully, he'll give me permission to photograph his paintings. I'm also going to tell him that he could try selling them on the net. Maybe not eBay, but another site - maybe even mine - and make money off of it. It's an idea. Then I can advertise it and he can give me 10%. haha, I'm kidding, but it'd be a cool idea for him. I guess it sort of depends on whether I move back to Virginia or decide to stay in this city. He doesn't really need me particularly to do something like that, but it'd be fun for me because I'm a dork. It kind of makes me want to take up painting again. *shrug* I think I'll finish up this pizza, watch my soap operas, and work on my site. ^.~ Comment! (1) | Recommend! What? Proud to be an American? Friday. 8.19.05 6:03 am There is a statement that I hear daily that disturbs me: I'm proud to be an American. (Or African-American, Black, White, Asian, etc.) Before you critcise, please allow me to clarify. What I mean is, how can you be proud to be an American any more than being proud of being a female or male or just born with a head? You can be proud to receive A's in college or even that you tied your shoes because you earned it. Your heritage or place of birth is not something earned or is even souly your decision. How can you be proud of something that just is? PROUD? Having pride and holding yourself above people born in other countries? Because of something that just is? You don't earn being an American any more than can earn your race. Whether or not you are an American, African-American, Black, or White is determined not by you, but is the decision of God or at least our creator, whoever that may be. Some could easily argue this by stating that our ancestors earned America for us. Even some who believe in reincarnation could argue, but think of this... If you say that you're proud to be an American now, had you been born in another country instead, would you then say that you would be proud to be a native of that country? You can't really answer that, can you? Even so, you still can't really be proud of it because you didn't earn it. To me, saying that you're proud to be an American is just giving yourself another reason to love yourself - not because of who you are or what you've made yourself - but just because of the inevitable. For the record, I enjoy being an American and I do feel that it's a privilege, not because it's where I live and despite that I also believe that we are the laziest and most ungrateful of how much we have than the others, but because we have an easy life. Sometimes it's hard, but in America, if you're focused and try your hardest to reach your goals, acheiving them is almost always virtually possible. I could be interpreting incorrectly; some could be proud of the people who made America what it is today. Even so, "I'm proud to be an American" wouldn't be the best-fitting declaration and I do know a lot of people who don't mean it this way. Still, the question remains: Had you been born in another country..? I think we should all just be happy to be able to breathe air. My point is it's more accurate to say you're glad to be a part of a country, not proud. It just doesn't sound good to me. On that note, I'm also not enjoying this VH1 special on "White people trying to be black". Grr. It makes me look bad. :P Hope I didn't offend anyone too greatly. Randomness: James and I had a shaving cream fight in the bathroom the other night. I was in the shower watching him shave his beard and he squirted me all over with blue shaving cream. I sprayed him with pink shaving cream. haha. Made me want cotton candy. Comment! (5) | Recommend! Re-introduction. Thursday. 8.18.05 3:20 pm I decided to give up on my other username, hilikus. Since I use lucidblur for a username for just about every other site, why not here, also? I guess I can call it another one of my new beginnings. Time to make this blog prettified. Comment!
