I'm taking three classes now here at UC Berkeley (aka Cal). It's an awesome campus, and I'm totally intrigued by how liberal everyone here seems to be. Not just in the political sense, but also in the more personal sense. Everyone just seems to have this "I'm me and this is who I am dammit" attitude that is a breath of fresh air away from San Diego (which looks more and more conservative everyday that I'm here in Berkeley/Bay Area).
I'm actually looking into going to Cal and Stanford as perspective graduate school choices up here (as well as UCSD down south for sure). On the east coast, it's Harvard and M.I.T.
Ok time to get back to reality and listen in class!

Ok, so out of curiosity I decided to google Hollister Co. and Abercrombie and Fitch just to read up on the origins of the similar brands. Turns out HCO is a tangent of A&F and that there are particular pricing strategies involved to distinguish one from the other. Interestingly enough, I actually like the feel and fit of HCO clothing over A&F stuff, and it's supposedly the "cheaper" brand that I just read caters to the 14-18 yeard old demographic.
Well damn. I'm definitely not 18 anymore and I don't particularly see any reason to be spending extra $$ on something that looks exactly like it's most cost-efficient alternative. Yes, there are people who SWEAR they will not be caught wearing the "lower-end" of this clothing hierarchy, but honestly, I could care less. I wear what I feel comfortable in and if it's cost-effective as well, then hey, I'm all on it.
And don't even get me started on this Ruehl.925 madness. Different strokes for different folks for sure, but I'm more than satisfied with my clothing choices thus far; maybe if I feel like it, I'll "splurge" on an A&F or Ruehl shirt every now and then. /sarcasm
