Small things

Breaks of sun in the icy mix
that�s New England in winter
that allow this book hound
to walk or shuttle to her local library.

Bookstores that don�t mind me
browsing for hours, even when
they �re aware I have no money
and am merely seeking refuge
from the bluster.

Monthly gathering of poets geared
to awaken muses despite
the raw temperatures;
literary sparks need not await
Persephone�s return

Today I was without a PCA for a fair amount of hours because of the weather and other concerns. But I was okay. Really glad I had some good programs on the DVR and lots of posting to distract me from the fact that I couldn't go to the bathroom. Such is the life of a personal care assistant user when her services gets screwed up. I have four interviews tomorrow and hopefully will find someone to fill my open shifts.

Other than that, this day has been very productive even though I slept late until almost 10:30am. I've posted in every blog I own and answered some questions in myLot. This is my last official thing to do today except for creating a new entry for tales from the chair.

My assistant quit suddenly. No notice, she just didn't show up today and my other assistant (who's her best friend, btw) had to stay with me today. Fortunately, Laura can come over tonight so poor Demi doesn't need to come back. Laura is such a good friend and behind saver. I need to buy her something cool, as a thank you.

I wrote a blog for today.com, hang out with Laura, got the chair looked at and improved. I was feeling sick earlier, but am doing better now. I ate a proper dinner, so that's good. It's supposed to snow Wednesday, again. I have a big to-do list tomorrow, a bunch of phone calls, a mall trip (mostly for baby gifts), the post office. I will probably cross 50 miles in the chair tomorrow.

hi everyone,

I didn't get much done today. I was so sore from falling that I slept until one in the afternoon. Then I slept again for another hour and half. Thankfully, my shoulder which was very sore before and apparently jammed, popped and righted itself. Know I'm feeling better.

I have been having a bad day one of my assistance has a cold and could not come in today because I can get cold if people come in my house and spread their germs but she called 7 int the morning. Instead of last night when she knew she was getting sick. I really must talk to her about doing that because its easier to find subs in the evening when people are a wake instead of 7 in the morning when every one is sleeping. If you get better I will just tell the sub that she is not needed and I would stay a little more sane witch is the goal. Lucky my friend Robin could come in.

The weirdest thing just happened as I was typing this entry. The chair fell over with me in it. Then it wouldn't turn, so my PCA called her boyfriend to help her get my old power chair out of my spare room. Meanwhile I had to pee, so my PCA (with much effort) pushed the broken chair into the bathroom. I went pee and then waited for the boyfriend to come. He took a long time to come. So, my back began to really hurt and I had to get back into my chair (even though it was broken). Then it begin to work again. I had the boyfriend, push my other chair out in case this one dies again.

All I have done today is sleep, ache, and have issues. What a day!
