About Art4TheHomeless
Imagine... a movement inspired by the arts to open the eyes of Americans to the plight of their own people. Imagine, through art, music and poetry, we are shining a much needed light on our own crisis: HOMELESSNESS

Art4TheHomeless was once a blog called Colors of Ink with Blogcharm, which closed down. Nutang, became the new home of Colors of Ink and was renamed Art4TheHomeless, by a really good friend, Samantha Medd. She is now the Co-Founder of Art4TH.

Now Art4TH is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that unites artists of all venues to promote homeless awareness in the US.

Art4TH does this through the Art4TH Webzine, a monthly online magazine that features a musician whose music plays throughout the website, a feature artist, and a feature writer while also featuring a homeless relief organization. All artists featured retain their copyrights and all of it is free. If you would like to be a featured artist, musician, or writer contact me at [email protected]

Inaugaration!
Tuesday. 1.20.09 1:20 pm
It was so tearful for my mother and myself. She is of the older generation where schools were segregated. It was unique as we sat there in our home watching CNN.

It really made my day yesterday when CNN reported that Obama was helping out in a homeless shelter for teens. I am glad he hadn't forgotten the homeless Americans while trying to help the middle class. NO one wants to talk about the ones who are below middle class. It is like people are too afraid or ashamed to speak about the fact that the average age of a homeless American is nine years old or that the majority of the people you see sleeping on the streets once put on a uniform and served this country.

I am inspired to do much more with Art4TH though I am not sure what direction I want to take it in. I am planning to add on to The Homeless Network and you will soon see what I am doing.

Art4TH to pay out a shelter soon!
Sunday. 1.18.09 10:16 pm
My Zazzle Gallery has been selling art! I only get so much royalty from the sales and have made around $15! Not much, but better than last year when I got paid $2.00 and some change that I just put with a sale to help out.

Anyway, the shelter that will benefit is the Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless. If you would like to purchase art to help the homeless, you can choose from the panel below!

wow..
Saturday. 1.17.09 2:55 pm
I have been so busy. I have my art down in Little 5 and am working with three different business owners in the same shop on web design and marketing, working at my job, taking my mom to her doc's appointments, trying to keep the webzine published on time, and keep up with Art4TheHomeless. It seems to be taking off.

I am booked on musicians for the zine until April! This is fantastic! I am booked with Zazzle artists until June!! I still need writers and have been using my own stuff and a few friends.

I want to make sure The Homeless Network is well known so if anyone needs help they can find it. That includes any of you.

I feel so blessed!

New Art!
Wednesday. 1.7.09 4:35 pm
I have an interesting piece of art I just finished. It is on canvas. It is the Japanese symbol for love and the English word, "Love". It is multimedia: acrylic, calligraphy, pen/ink, ribbons, and beads.

I am taking it down to Little 5 Points to sell. I will price it at $45.00. Enjoy!

confused
Monday. 1.5.09 3:41 pm
I am so confused. There is this guy that I like and he knows I like him. He thinks I am too young or whatever. I like him. Errr can't get him out of my head. So I will be going to look for another job just to get myself out of a situation. Tell me how strange this is:

A couple of weeks ago, I was approached by one of my coworkers. He asked if I liked lemonade...My reply was that yeah, it tastes okay, but I prefer pink lemonade to the regular....

Everyone just stopped what they were doing and looked at me as if I crashed landed in from the roof or said that I was a vampire or something odd like that...come to find out...dude i like...that's his nickname....I wonder how it got out that I liked him since I haven't told anyone except a few friends in other states.

I seriously doubt that he will read this blog so I am being bold and posting my feelings on here :)

Last night he gave me a ride home. Most people usually have rap/r&b or rock...he played Zydeco! Sweet! I am from Louisiana and grew up listening to Zydeco. It would be played at the State Fair, festivals and such. I like him even more now!

I am not that young btw...I am 26 and not sure of his age, yeah I know, you like someone you gotta find out everything about them or so says some of my friends. I would rather just let my crush come to me in a conversation and find out things about him instead of asking around, but that is just me.

Gotta work today so I, as usual, will try to keep my cool. My friend thinks I should be aggressive and under normal circumstance I am aggressive when it comes to getting what I want, but what I want is for him to like me, but I know since he doesn't like me, then there is nothing I can do. You can't make people like you so I am not even going to embarrass my self in that way.

Art sales!
Friday. 1.2.09 12:53 am
I have been selling art on Zazzle.com!!! Actually, I had my gallery for almost three years now, but am progressing. All sales will be accumulated to help the homeless shelters here in the US. Pretty soon, Zazzle will be ready to send me a yearly check I think...I just have to pick out a shelter :) I may just donate the money to the Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless. They need help paying their water bill. They almost got their water shut off and sad thing is, they still could. The City of Atlanta doesn't play. They shot off Morris Brown College's water and turn their backs to the fact that the most expensive water bill are the city's own departments. hmmm..

Anyway, here are some new pieces that I have for sale. If you choose to buy, then you will be making a huge difference in someone's life besides yours and mine :)

I also have The Angel Forum featured again because people need to know that there is help out there so go register and post!!
The Art4TheHomeless Blog has reached $11.00 thanks to my readers! My goal is to reach $100 and divide the payment into 10 different shelters!

Our feature artists are Artistic-Lemonade (I will be a feature on their site soon!) and my Zazzle friends: Out of Limits, Patricia Rideout of Newfoundland Canada, Kathleen of Delano TN, Akemi Faux of Mississippi, Malou Geurts of Urtretch Netherlands, and Agnieszka & Bartek of Poland! Stop by and check out their art!

Our feature musician is Ouzoman from Spraygraphic.com whose work is experimental fusion, electronica, alternative, and great in my opinion!

Our feature poet is Samantha Medd and her poem is called Black Autumn. It is about homelessness. She is on my Myspace top friends under The Senshi so add her and check out her poetry!
