Happy Tree Friends - violence at its best Army Tank - waiting for its return Rock Paper Saddam - as the name suggests Weapons of Mass Destruction - self explanatory World Rally Championships | V Cities Thursday, February 22, 2007 I finally got off my lazy butt today and went down to viviocity.... i know it's been open for quite some time now, and im probably one of the last few people that haven't been there, BUT, it's not without reason of course! i didn't want to rub shoulders with the other ton of people that crazily rush to the mall just because it's new, and being a weekday and all, i thought today would be a pretty good day for me to head down. I took the train over to Harbourfront and then followed the signboards... but strange enough, it said Viviocity (monorail), and i was somehow expecting to ride on a monorail but felt kinda cheated because there wasn't any in sight. I was only greeted by the basement 2 sign and the start of the shops. Had a quick bite at the superdog... SUPERDOG... a caped crusader dog that ended up flash fried and stuffed into my hotdog topped with meat sauce mmm mmm.... As i was warned prior to going down that it would be a pretty big place, i thought i'd give myself plenty of time to walk around and explore (i love exploring).. but i guess due to the comments as well i adjusted my expectations before going and wasn't all too fascinated by the size. I realise it had more empty space than shops actually. I liked the concept that majority of the eateries were facing the water towards Sentosa, but kinda wonder how the businesses going to survive with so many eateries over there... and there was some nice outdoor spots for photo taking and stuff, wont be surprised if next time people choose to have their wedding photos taken over there too. The shops, as with all singapore malls were pretty standard fare... had the usual boutiques and a bit more upscale ones.. there really wasn't any huge differences from this mall and another, cept maybe the size. However, i found some notable shops like the pet store (with the cute doggies), and the cool bookshop (with cool notebooks). I even walked the link bridge over to st james to see how it looks like (really mountain tortoise man). I spent about 2 hours exploring the place, minus the meal time, and decided since i had time, why not go explore other malls as well. So i took a train ride down to Novena and checked out the Velocity, some sports themed shopping mall. However, sad to say, it was kind of a let down because the place was pretty small and come on, how many sports stuff does everyone need..... and the shops were pretty much a duplicate of what the other malls already have.... so wasn't surprise to see not many people around there.. then headed over to the square2, which will be the extension of the novena square. I heard that they have some korean themed shops but unfortunately, the whole place doesn't seem to be ready for opening.. only some were open and was sparsely located in the mall. Done with exploring, headed over to TTSH because thought could see ah too at the A & E but didn't manage to find him lol, probably busy or something. All in all, i can safely conclude that viviocity is still worth visiting again whereas i think i might be seeing the last of the velocity... Anyway, saw this trailer for the upcoming Simpsons movie and thought it was pretty cool, big fan of the Simpsons... Comment! (5) | Recommend! Yuna Ito - Endless Story Tuesday. 2.13.07 8:42 am i was sitting in Meety's car today and was discussing about jap songs. I introduced him to yui's songs a few days back and he liked it so he decided to let me listen to the songs he had. turned out that his brother watched nana and gave him the songs to the movie, and he also had the trapnest songs done by reiro starring yuna ito. the song was called endless story.... and i was f-ing blown away.... even though i didn't know what the lyrics meant then, it's one of those very rare epic songs that just want to make you cry wherever you are... (3) Nana Sunday, February 11, 2007 watched this movie and thought it wasn't too bad and dcided to introduce to you guys. nana is adapted from the anime, which in turn is adapted from the manga of the same name. It tells a story of two girls, with the same name, but with contrasting personalities. The first nana, is a sweet girl who is more reliant on others. Whereas for the other girl, she is a budding punk rock singer trying to establish herself. Ok, normally i don't really watch animes/manga without any violence, but this shoujo seemed pretty interesting because the actress is played by mika nakashima who sang some of the songs which i thought was not bad, not to mention both are pretty cute.catch it, it's not too bad. the first movie. trying to find out how to catch the second movie the album that mika nakashima released for the movie, was intrigued by the cover so decided to check it out. Notable songs include glamorous sky and hitoiro. Comment! (4) | Recommend! The days just never end... (0) | Recommend! things to improve on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 my experience thus far in service has highlighted several of my shortcomings. Figured i should make a list to try to improve to be a better person. 1. Be less jumpy when things go wrong 2. Be more firm/assertive 3. Plan for more contingencies and in greater details 4. Be more decisive 5. Be less concerned about whether others like me 6. Stop trying to be so understanding that it compromises quality of work hmm.. that's all i can think of for now, might add more if i can think of it. Comment! (12) | Recommend! Interesting Tests Tuesday, January 30, 2007 constantly amazed by how many quizzes and tests that have sprouted out in the internet. Almost can find any kind of tests that you want. This one's pretty interesting: The Death Clock (http://www.deathclock.com). Tells you when you are going to die... hmm according to the calculator, i have: Your Personal Day of Death is... Saturday, August 9, 2059 Seconds left to live... 1,657,378,582 well of course, the seconds would have changed already. but rough estimate is that i have another 52 more years to live. That will make me 73 years old when finally kick the bucket... glad that i don't have to stick around that long, but long enough to see what happens to my life, always curious. now this is quite funny
