Imagine... a movement inspired by the arts to open the eyes of Americans to the plight of their own people. Imagine, through art, music and poetry, we are shining a much needed light on our own crisis: HOMELESSNESS
Art4TheHomeless was once a blog called Colors of Ink with Blogcharm, which closed down. Nutang, became the new home of Colors of Ink and was renamed Art4TheHomeless, by a really good friend, Samantha Medd. She is now the Co-Founder of Art4TH.
Now Art4TH is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that unites artists of all venues to promote homeless awareness in the US.
Art4TH does this through the Art4TH Webzine, a monthly online magazine that features a musician whose music plays throughout the website, a feature artist, and a feature writer while also featuring a homeless relief organization. All artists featured retain their copyrights and all of it is free. If you would like to be a featured artist, musician, or writer contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org

SNOW!! In Atlanta...seriously
Sunday. 3.1.09 3:34 pm
Almost died in the ER yesterday
Saturday. 2.28.09 9:20 pm
I have been sick with this cold and it got worse. I started having sever chest pain so I was taken by ambulance to Grady when I got home from work. I wished I would have stayed home.
There was this head nurse and she was a bitch. I had an asthma attack in the waiting room and fell onto the floor. The woman started screaming at me and I quote
"You need to get up and behave yourself. You are making a fool of yourself in front of everyone. You are fine because i did the EMS evaluation myself. Now get up,"
She kept saying that over and over and then she faded away. I had stopped breathing for a minute or so and I kept pointing my throat trying to signal that I couldn't breathe. My mother gave me HER inhaler and put it in my mouth and pushed the wonderful albuterol in my mouth. It was the medicine and the bitch's yelling that brought me back. I thought it was over for a minute. I mean, everything went black. There was this abyss that was pulling me away from it all.
Security came--they have metal detectors in the ER and were there the whole time, but the guy tried to help me up. The bitch/nurse told him
"No! Don't you dare help her she is fine. You will hurt yourself,"
I said a prayer for that security guard since I couldn't talk to tell him thanks.
Anyway, they finally saw me and I was sent to the asthma room and was on oxygen for the next five hours.
The Homeless Network
Wednesday. 2.25.09 3:09 pm
I printed some flyers and passed them on to the Atlanta Fulton Library System. The staff were very courteous and promised that they would be placed on each floor and near the computers.
If you read the flyer and have come here to learn about Art4TheHomeless, you are at the right spot.
The mission of Art4TheHomeless is to use the arts to promote homeless awareness in America. Simply put,Art4TH features artists and through their art, promotes homeless help organizations, shelters, web organizations; anyone or anything that pertains to homeless Americans and in the process, promoting the artists whose art we use. Art4TH supports the arts and wants to use the arts to help as many Americans who are homeless and needs help as we can.
Art4TheHomeless sees an America where artists come together to help those in need, each other, and emotionally raise each other up. Art is our way of expressing who we are and Art4TheHomeless expresses art and homelessness: how we can help each other out.
What Art4TheHomeless currently does to help
Art4TheHomeless currently has four sites: It started with a weblog. Art4TH blog is a revenue sharing blogómeaning that the blog owner gets paid to blog. Art4TH is currently at around $13.00 and the goal is to reach $100 to be divided up between ten homeless shelters in America.
The Art4TH online art gallery is where you can purchase unique artwork, prints, apparel, cards, postage, etc., and all profits go to help various homeless shelters and organizations.
The Art4TH Webzine started in August 2008 and features visual artists, writers, and musicians from around the world who want to get their art out there and who also support Art4TH. The Zineís front page features homeless help organizations and shelters or anyone who helps the homeless.
The Homeless Network was created in October 2008 and this unique website caters to homeless Americans. You could be in Alaska and homeless, there is help for you. Some of the things a homeless American can find on this site is information pertaining to their rights, getting copies of their birth certificate, Social Security cards, Naturalization and Immigration information, online homeless shelter directories by state and also by province in some areas of Canada, online food bank directories, online medical care institutes who cater to homeless Americans, information about homeless teens and runaways, mental health and substance abuse programs, online organizations that help the homeless such as MySpace pages, YouTube videos and the National Coalition for the Homeless. The Homeless Network was just added to the US Department of Health and Human Servicesí Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrationís Homeless Resource Center (http://samhsa.gov ) a homeless assistance link.
False gold or platinum?
Sunday. 2.22.09 2:48 pm
Defy my desire
throw my emotions away
You go in circles
Denying yourself someone real
Chasing after false gold
When you have the option of
You ache to be love
Yet don't know how
You reach for her
To find an empty space
You smile at her
Only to be used
Stability is not your greatest achievement
Materialistic possibility is as far as you wish to go
And here I am, beyond the other side
So far so close
Far enough from you
Yet under your nose
and still you continue to pretend
That I am nonexistent.
"I have a missile in my basement"
Friday. 2.20.09 4:29 pm
Don't mess with me! I have a missile in my basement!
Well, I don't, but someone else does. It's a funny story really. I caught in on the news. This lady was married to a member of the National Guard and one day he brought home a pet...a pet missile.
They are getting a divorce and she contacted the Guard and they were like OMG We need that back!
Is there anyone else out there that has unique and exotic pets?
Guy cuts off his dog's ears
Thursday. 2.19.09 11:10 pm
I am just sitting here watching the news when this came on. This is really sick. This guy cut off his pit bull's ears because he thought it would look cool. They showed the animal and he was in a lot of pain. His ears were bloody.
That guy needs to have his ears cut off.
Anyway here's the news link for it:
Had my puff for the day

My art profits totaling $16.33 for the year end of 2007-08 was cleared. I had it sent through Zazzle to the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless.
It's not much, but at the same time, Art4TH is being successful! The check was sent on February 3rd so they should have it by now :) Yay!
