According to a recent survey performed by Adrian North for the University of Leicester, people in Britian who listen to Hip-Hop are more likely to have had more sexual partners in the last five years, than people who listen to country music.

North, who is a psychologist, polled 2,500 Britons to determine how music related to their lifestyles. The telling survey was conducted in an effort to make a correlation between the behaviors of people based on the music they listened to.

The results revealed that 38% of Hip-Hop listeners and 29% of dance music fans surveyed had engaged in sexual activity with more than one person in the last five years.

In comparison, only 1.5% of country music fans admitted to participating in the same type of behavior.

"Surprisingly there have been very few studies on how people's age, sex, socioeconomic status and personality relate to the music they enjoy listening to," North told Reuters.

Additionally, North’s survey revealed that more than 50% of Hip Hop and Dance music fans admitted to breaking the law and committing some type of criminal act.

The survey also discovered that at least a quarter of classical music fans have used cannabis and that 12% of those surveyed who enjoy opera had experimented with "magic mushrooms."

In an effort to expand his analysis, North plans to recruit an additional 10,000 subjects to poll in the near future.

Full Surface/J Records rapper Cassidy was critically injured in a car accident last night (October 5) in New Jersey.

A spokesperson for Sony records tells SOHH that the Philadelphia native was in New Jersey en route to a Yonkers, NY studio session last night, when a U-Haul truck swerved into oncoming traffic, striking the side of the SUV Cassidy was riding in. The MC was sitting in the rear passenger side seat.

Currently in critical condition, Cassidy has suffered severe injuries, including a fractured skull and broken bones on the left side of his face. He is currently hospitalized at an undisclosed medical facility, awaiting the results of a CAT scan.

"Cass is like my brother, and this has been such a rough year for him," Swizz Beatz, Full Surfce honcho and Cassidy's close friend, released this statement exclusively to SOHH. "We're all praying and staying positive during this time. Thanks to everyone for their continued support, and please keep Cassidy and his family in your prayers."

The Philly rep had been preparing his return to the rap game with a third album via Full Surface. He was released from prison in April for an involuntary manslaughter conviction stemming from the 2005 death of Desmond Hawkins.

SOHH it seems that Diddy and his campaign to take over the net with his ego-driven viral videos/video diary has backfired. No, he didn't violate the terms and services agreement. No, he didn't misrepresent himself. And despite him videotaping himself taking and piss and comparing it to some of the best sex he's ever had, he didn't even overexpose himself.

The story goes... Diddy creates a video of himself at Burger King proclaiming himself the king of music and fashion. Nothing strange there. He goes on to order a Whopper and then announce that he and BK bought a channel on YouTube and it's named "Diddy TV" (all channels on YouTube are free).

Within hours of the clip being added to YouTube over 1,700 comments were left, most of them negative. Shortly thereafter, spoofs and parodies of Diddy’s vids began popping up, in particular one by the user LisaNova who goes to a fruit stand and orders a fruit salad with everything and says that she is partnering with the stand to BUY a YouTube channel. Inferring how "smart" a deal it is. Are you catching the shade here?

Long story short, peeps are pressed that Diddy did what he does: makes a million dollars out of fifteen cents. Diddy helped mainstream hip hop, why would mainstreaming and profiting off of the latest internet fad be any different. Kudos to him for doing it just in time for the announcement that Google not only acquired YouTube, but that both entities have etched deals with major record labels which makes them less like copyright infringers and more like pimps in their own minds.

Will this mole hill won’t keep Diddy down. Well, according to Burger King, which on Monday announced a multi-year, multi-platform campaign showcasing Diddy, "No." And if they asked Whitney, the answer would be "Hell to the no!

But anyways, Diddy’s Press Play hits stores this Tuesday (10/17). Although you shouldn’t wait until then to press play and listen to “Thought U Said” featuring Brandy. Brandy is a bad girl and despite the fact that she hasn’t released a project since 2004 but both Kanye and Diddy have called on her everytime the beat drops speaks volumes.

As a trial date seemingly loomed closer, the hearing for R&B superstar R.Kelly has once again been pushed back.

In opposition to published media accounts, a hearing for Kelly's trial was scheduled for today (October 13), not his actual trial. Yet according to the Cook County State's Attorney's office, the date has been rescheduled for October 27th.

The hearing will consist of pre-trial motions and a final date for the actual trial could be set during the proceedings.

As previously reported by SOHH, the singer is facing 14 counts of child pornography, stemming from a video tape released in February of 2002 by an unknown source, that was sent to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The clip allegedly shows the crooner engaging in sex with an underage female. The female in the video is allegedly the then 14 year-old niece of Sparkle, one of the singer's former artists and protégés.

Since his arrest, Kelly has vigorously denied that the man in the video is actually him. The suspected victim and her parents have also publicly denied that she is the person on the tape.

The tape, which was widely bootlegged and made available to the public, furthered wide spread debate on whether or not the man in the video was indeed Kelly.

Ali Jones of the St. Lunatics accused a St. Louis officer of overusing his taser gun after being pulled over this weekend (October 14).

Ali was reportedly pulled over in Hazelwood, MO before being gratuitously tased, he claims. While the rapper contends the officer tased him 46 times, a release from the Hazelwood Police Department states that the rapper had resisted arrest and kicked the arresting officer.

"My back is a mess," Jones told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "He tased me repeatedly over and over."

Ali also said the arresting officer made racial comments during the traffic stop. On the other end, a statement from the HPD reads that Ali was driving with an expired license and that he resisted arrest and damaged the patrol car. Though Ali admits to committing a traffic violation, he denies hitting the officer in anyway.

"There is no way that I could kick him from the back seat," he offered.

Ali was arrested and later released. He is charged with third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and property damage

Day four of The Source sexual harassment trial kicked off this week with talks of an alleged sexual affair between 50 Cent and former Source editor-in-chief Kim Osorio.

Osorio was back on the stand today (October 16) to continue her testimony from last week, saying that the humiliation she allegedly suffered at the hands of Raymond "Benzino" Scott, former co-owner of The Source, went on long after her employment for the magazine ended.

Months after being terminated, Osorio landed her current position as executive editor of music at BET.com. She testified that she and her superior were on a boat in Miami to interview Murder Inc's Irv Gotti when they ran into Benzino and fellow former Source co-owner David Mays.

"Ray stepped in front of me and said, 'What up?'" Osorio testified. Then she said security stepped in and said something to Benzino.

"He started yelling, 'We can take this off the boat!'" the plaintiff recalled. "He said, 'Get her the fuck off the boat!'"

Osorio said she was then forced to leave the boat and was unable to do her job.

It was a hard-earned testimony for the plaintiff, as Judge Jed S. Rakoff admonished the plaintiff's counsel several times about asking leading questions.

Former Source vice president of content and communications Tracii McGregor was also on the stand this morning. McGregor testified that she had concerns about Osorio's reputation and she brought them to Mays.

"There were rumors swirling that Kim had affairs with various rappers," McGregor said.

Those rumors were exposed in a live broadcast on NY radio station Hot 97 when Osorio was being interviewed by correspondent Sway. "He asked her about giving 50 Cent 'brain,' live on the air," McGregor said.

McGregor also testified that she was made aware that 50 Cent wrote a song alluding to his escapades with Osorio, though she admitted to never having heard it. Throughout McGregor's testimony Judge Rakoff continually warned her about editorializing, rather than simply answering the question.

At one point, the jury was even led out of the courtroom and Judge Rakoff threatened to fine McGregor $10,000 if she continued to go beyond the scope of questioning with "superfluous" answers.

"In 10 years on the bench, I've never had a witness who so repeatedly and willfully violated the court's [directions]," Rakoff said, adding that the plaintiff's counsel didn't help by asking so many poor questions.

But McGregor was able to speak to Benzino's claim that the only reason Osorio submitted a written complaint of discrimination was for fear of losing her job. McGregor testified that Osorio called her one evening, after McGregor had already left the company, asking for advice. McGregor said Osorio heard she was going to be terminated and she wanted to know how McGregor's parting ways with the company was handled.

According to McGregor, Osorio asked about severance pay specifically. "[Osorio] said, 'I'm not trying to leave. I'm not trying to be outta here,'" McGregor testified. "I told her to pack up her things anyway because I had to sneak back in to get my things."
