I have returned...
Tuesday. 1.22.08 9:55 pm
I felt like a break...so I took one.

Nothing is really up with me.

Got back from Seattle yesterday (I was maid of honor at my best friend's wedding). It was okay...I suppose. Lots of things upset me, but what do you do.

Greg has RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). He came down with it yesterday (of course, before we get on the airplane). He was coughing and wheezing and it didn't sound too good. Got him into the doctor today to tell me he has RSV. Anyway, it's basically a common virus that seems to like to attack babies between 6 months and 2 years. The doctor says that every year this seems to happen where lots of kids get it. Basically, there's nothing we can do other than just wait for him to get better. We bought him a humidifier and we're just waiting for him to get better.

It was his 1st birthday on January 12th and we celebrated in Seattle. Here he is getting in on some cake action:

I know...he looks uncomfortable, but I think it's because he didn't want to get himself dirty.

Here's a happier one...

ANYWAY...that's my update for now. Hope to be back sooner than later.

Best Game EVER...hands down.

Brian and I got it last night (it's his Christmas present) and the game kicks so much ass...you've got the mic for singing, the drums for playing, and the guitar for shredding.

I sort of took a liking to the drums...they liked me :)

Just a quick one...
Saturday. 11.24.07 12:53 am
I know I've been absent for a while...been very busy.

The news as of late...Gregory has to have an MRI done on his head. The last doctor appointment, they felt that his head was growing abnormally fast, so they wanted to measure him again in a month. In that month, his head grew another inch and they were concerned, so they want to do the MRI to rule out any water on his brain that could be making his head grow at such a fast rate.

His MRI is scheduled for December 13th and unfortunately, because of his age, they are going to have to put him under for the entire thing. He'll be sedated and still the entire time. That, I think, is the most nerve wracking of the entire thing.

Other than that, nothing new. Getting my plane ticket back to Seattle for the wedding. The bridesmaid dress that I have does not fit my fat ass, so I have to try to lose weight and/or go exchange it for a larger dress. Why me?!

Anyway...until next time...

Hiya Folks

Sorry I've not been around...

I've been so insanely busy. I never have time to get on the computer anymore. Greg is just getting into EVERYTHING. He's practically walking his happy little butt all over the house (okay, not to be confused with actually walking...he's CRUISING all over the house). If it's within arms length, he'll grab it...and you take it away and you'd think you'd cut his arm off. He throws a temper tantrum and starts screaming. FUN TIMES...

He went to the doctor today. He's 29 1/4 inches long, 21 1/2 pounds. His head is large though. He's in the 75% for length, 70% for weight, and 90% for head circumference. The last 2 appointments he's been at 90% and they are afraid that maybe his head might be growing at an abnormal rate and they want to make sure that it's just Greg's growing head and not hydrocephalus (it means water on the brain - infants and young children with hydrocephalus typically have abnormally large heads, because the pressure of the fluid causes the individual skull bones — which have not knitted with each other yet — to bulge outward at their juncture points. Compression of the brain by the accumulating fluid eventually may cause convulsions and mental retardation. Hydrocephalus occurs in about one out of every 500 live births and was routinely fatal until surgical techniques for shunting the excess fluid out of the central nervous system and into the blood or abdomen were developed.) She said that she would feel better if she measured his head in a month rather than 3 months so she could sleep better at night knowing that it's just Greg's head and not a serious problem. He'll be going back right before Thanksgiving.

Other than that, he's got 6 teeth! Some chompers that boy's got!

We got some pictures taken for the fall...here they are...

He was not being very cooperative in his pictures, so I have had better. He's going to be a giraffe for Halloween, so that last one is what he'll look like. Everyone that walked by in the mall was like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! How cute is he?!?!?!" He was pretty cute in his little costume. We'll be trick-or-treating at the zoo. He'll enjoy that.

I've been waiting FOREVER for the sequel to my favorite book of all time (Pillars of the Earth) and it finally came out! Pillars of the Earth came out in 1989 and I read it about 10 years after it came out when I was in high school and I absolutely loved it! The sequel (which really isn't a sequel...it is based a couple hundred years later and it involves the descendants of the first book) came out on Tuesday. That book (World Without End) IS FANTASTIC...so far! I've not even gotten to page 200 and I'm just as enthralled with it as I was with it's predecessor. Per Amazon.com "World Without End takes place in the same town of Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building the exquisite Gothic cathedral that was at the heart of The Pillars of the Earth. The cathedral and the priory are again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge, but this sequel stands on its own. This time the men and women of an extraordinary cast of characters find themselves at a crossroad of new ideas--about medicine, commerce, architecture, and justice. In a world where proponents of the old ways fiercely battle those with progressive minds, the intrigue and tension quickly reach a boiling point against the devastating backdrop of the greatest natural disaster ever to strike the human race--the Black Death."

I can't wait to get really into it!!!!

Anyway, this is long...and drawn out...and probably hella boring.

Gregory...picture time!

I know I've not shared a lot of pictures of Greg, so here he is in all his little cuteness.

Okay, Gregory picture time is going to turn into a module...

Here's some of the big ones...I'd post the bath ones, but then I'd have to make it a private post...because you'd see his privates!

I think I spoke too early about Jacob yesterday. I really feel for him, he's just playing games just like Edward is playing games.

TRULY, at the end of the book, I do feel horrible for Jacob. I wish I could hold him :(

Ugh...I wish I could write more, but I need to get back to work...

I would love to have a book discussion though regarding the entire series! It would be LOADS of fun!

BOOKS...

Okay, so those of you that got me hooked on the Twilight books...*spoilers below, I suppose, if you plan on reading the series and have not*

I am in the part in the 3rd book where Edward and Bella and Jacob are out in the woods before the big fight thingy...where they're "camping" and where Bella confesses her love for Jacob. I read that whole passage last night and I wasn't so keen on Jacob before that part in the series (not even in the 2nd book when they became really good friends), but now I think I like Jacob more than Edward. If I were Bella, something tells me I would choose Jacob. GRANTED, I spoiled it for myself and I read somewhere online that that doesn't happen, but geez...this happens in every book series or thing that I read. I always tend to adore the underdog.

Do any of you feel that way? I know a lot of you said you loved Edward more when the book was done, so maybe I'll get to that part, but there's something about Jacob that I cannot dismiss. He's firey, he's ALIVE (for one), and him and Bella could really have a future together. Edward, yes, they could have a future, but they wouldn't really have a family like she could have with Jacob. Through her little dreams and moments, you can tell that Bella really wants to have a family...just not now. I hope she really reconsiders becoming a vampire because, I certainly wouldn't want to throw that away for immortality.

THAT'S JUST ME THOUGH...

watch out people who don't know how to use proper grammar...I'm out to get you!!!

You Scored an A

You got 10/10 questions correct.

It's pretty obvious that you don't make basic grammatical errors.

If anything, you're annoyed when people make simple mistakes on their blogs.

As far as people with bad grammar go, you know they're only human.

And it's humanity and its current condition that truly disturb you sometimes.
