... I'll be in Harlem in an audition. If it wasn't for the fact that I like my job, I wouldn't be in uniform right now. I'm actually working this afternoon and since I don't know how long this audition is going to run me, I'm not taking any chances.
But beyond that, I'm still trying to wake up. Wish me luck everyone, I'll explain the rest of the details when I know the outcome.

Tired, but in a good mood

Last night I went to a lounge in the village and heard Jellybean Benitez spin. It was pretty cool. Later I got to speak to him and he remembered me from myspace, which I thought was really quite funny. He gave me an invite to a special house party he throws once a month in the city. It's by invite only from what I hear, so it was pretty cool that he himself passed me the info.
I'm also working tonight @ Strata, yeah, it's bussing tables, so a lot of manual labor, however, I do get free food, and get to watch a whole bunch of corporate people get messed up.
Tomorrow I'm working my regular day job, then leaving early to run to another gig where I'll be dealing cards for a corporate party. What do I mean by dealing? Well, I deal texas holdem, blackjack, three card poker, and roulette for a company that does casino theme events. Which will most likely end late since afterwards I'm scheduled celebrate the company's milestone 200th gig of the year. Not bad for a fledgling company.
And then Friday I work again at Strata for I guess another x-mas party, and Saturday I have an audition to run to and then after another casino event to work.
And in the next week or two I'll be going for my written test of my license. In New York you don't really need a car, and technically it becomes more of a financial hassle, however since my mother and her husband are signing the papers for their new home in Texas, if I plan on visiting, I best learn how to drive.

And then the truth came out

I was sitting here a few minutes ago speaking to my boss, who is a rather nice woman, but something strange happened. One of the other lawyers who works in the same office (they share space) asked if I'd be willing to do work for him. He was willing to pay a little more for me, and I was ok with it. But as I did this, she said she wanted to make sure that the time I was working for her was hers even if it was me here sitting doing nothing, which potentially is what would have happened.
It's interesting to note that since there are times when you see me blogging like I'm doing now, and I'm getting paid for it in more ways than one.
However, I seem to be finding more and more ways to make money these days, so who am I to argue?

So I caved in... I downloaded Opera. It's an interesting browser, however it doesn't support a lot of the functions that some of my other bloggers require to function, ergo I'm back to using IE and Firefox, which also doesn't support the functions of this blog.
So wait, I write on other blog sites? Yes.
I've been a xanga member since 2002, and since I have a lifetime membership, I'm less inclined to let that one die. I also subscribe to blogger, and also one blogcharm blog which I hardly ever update. I think I should incorporate one of my blogs into my janifer.org website and perhaps make some money off of it. I don't know. Perhaps I should just sit down one day and redesign the blogcharm site, stick it up to my personal website, and just do it that way, bc as of right now, I've put my xanga on lock.
So over the weekend I did some cleaning. Outside of the fact that I couldn't find what I needed to go running yesterday, I decided my bedroom had to be cleaned up from all the clutter, and there's a lot of clutter. I put together three bags worth of garbage and my chair finally broke, so I'm going to have to make an IKEA run before the start of the new year.
As for my readings? Well, I finally broke the $200 mark, so my check should be nice by the 14th. And since I technically have 9 more days to rack up more $, that check might break $300 before payday. That should help tremendously because I have a doctor bill I need to pay, my roommate's gift I need to cover (she doesn't know it, but I ordered her a Boom Chair"
And rent to cover. But with the cleaning of house yesterday, i will admit I was highly pissed. My computer was running like shit lately and I was determined to resolve the problem. After blocking all incoming traffic, then to make sure nobody was getting into my cpu, I unplugged it from my cable modem (I don't like wireless connections). Scanned it with two of my scanners, took out all the programs I don't want and/or don't need. Defraged my harddrive, altered my firewall options, and then restarted my baby. It's running fine now, which I'm happy for. Spysubtract was taking a mess of my resources, so that had to go. Besides I have two other spyware softwares installed that seem to work far better than Spysubtract, so I punted that program to the curb.
And also back to the Opera business... you might think this stupid, but I downloaded opera for one of their widgets... Sim Aquarium. So right now I'm on day four and this is what mine looks like...
I'm working on buying a better background next.
I'm also looking on getting a sea turtle, however I don't think that's going to work with a fresh water tank.
Anyway, I'm happy I've finally made it to a dollar on this blog. Who knows, maybe I'll get to $2 before the end of first quarter.
