Thinking outside the box

I know that we are taught to think of alternate ways of doing things. Some ideas are GREAT while others are just a pile of crap. This guy on the other hand may have come up with a great idea?

Wife put pot in the meatballs

Officer claims wife put pot in meatballs

Fri Nov 3, 9:59 PM ET

A detective suspended after testing positive for drugs says his wife served him meatballs spiked with marijuana because she wanted to keep him out of harm's way by forcing him into retirement.

An administrative judge believed him, and recommended this week that Anthony Chiofalo be reinstated.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly has yet to decide what to do.

"We can't comment because the matter will still come before the police commissioner for a final determination," said spokesman Paul Browne.

Chiofalo, a 22-year-veteran assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force, was suspended without pay last year after a random drug test found marijuana in his system. The officer denied ever using drugs and demanded a hearing.

During an investigation, his wife said she had substituted marijuana for oregano in her meatball recipe in hopes of forcing him to leave police work.

The detective's lawyers also presented evidence that she had passed a lie-detector test, and offered testimony from a toxicologist that the excuse was valid.

If are like me and like to be "scared", check out this blog ghost stories.

Hackers rob banks using GOOGLE maps
Tuesday. 2.20.07 5:01 pm

Hackers are using google maps to rob banks in Australia.

"The hackers could correlate user information acquired from the key-logger with knowledge of where a user is located from Google Maps to masquerade as them," Camissar said. "With this they could access bank accounts and
social security numbers."

HOW DOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN??
Sophos senior technology consultant Graham Cluley said users are directed to a 404 error page which downloads the code.

"Recipients of the e-mail are encouraged to click on a link to obtain the latest information on Howard's health; however, this link takes users to a Web page which downloads malicious code to their PC, and then displays the real '404 page not found' error page," Cluely said.

keep your eyes on the look out for suspicious email activity such as this to avoid your IP address being compromised.

Slaying Dragon Breath
Wednesday. 2.21.07 9:36 pm
We've all found ourselves chatting with someone whose breath could easily wilt a flower. With more than 90 million people suffering from chronic bad breath (also called halitosis), that's a lot of wilted flowers. If you (or someone you regularly smooch) has an attack of bad breath that even Altoids won't fix, try these eight simple tips to fix the problem.

1. Don't let your tongue become a dirty carpet - A clean tongue goes a long way to warding off bad breath, says Stephen Z. Wolner, a dentist in private practice in New York City. "Your tongue microscopically is like a shaggy carpet. There are millions of filaments on your tongue that trap tiny food particles and bacteria," he says. Get in the habit of regularly cleaning your tongue using a toothbrush, the edge of a spoon, or a tongue cleaner. If you have any mouth guards or oral devices, make sure to clean them thoroughly before putting them back in your mouth.

2. Chew gum like it's going out of style - "When you chew gum it makes you salivate, and the more saliva you have in your mouth the fewer bacteria you have. It not only mechanically washes bacteria out, but we have antiseptic and enzymes in our saliva that kill bacteria," says Wolner.

3. Drink more water - You might not even notice you're thirsty, he says, so make drinking water a habit, because water will help keep the bacteria in your mouth to a minimum. Drinking water has a lot of health benefits, and preventing bad breath is one of them.

Thursday. 2.22.07 5:27 pm

A friend of mine recently told me that he went speed dating with a friend. I was like, "huh?" He said he had a lot of fun and there was no pressure. Everyone is there for the same purpose, to find a date. After 10 min. if you are not interested in eachother, "NEXT" and you switch! It is that simple.

Speed Dating 101

Wondering if Speed Dating is for you? Here's all the basics to help you determine if you want to give Speed Dating a try.

What is Speed Dating?
Speed Dating originated in the late 1990's and utilizes a round-robin format to help daters meet several people one-on-one at the same event. Each date typically lasts ten minutes or less before you move onto the next potential mate.

HOW TO BOOST YOUR BLOG TRAFFIC
Thursday. 2.22.07 9:45 pm
THIS IS JUST ONE TIP OF MANY... TECHNORATTI

Technorati is Your Best Friend

Technorati is one of the best traffic providers for bloggers. It makes your blog much easier to find when people search by technorati tags. Technorati is also a large blog ranking engine. Based on the number of links to your blog from various websites, your blog is given a rank. The higher your rank the easier your blog is to find when people search for things. A higher rank gives your blog greater credibility in technorati. If you don’t already have a technorati account, get one. After you have setup the main settings, such as your profile, you need to claim your blog. Go to Account and then down the page to Your Blogs. Enter the URL of your blog in the URL field and then hit “Claim this weblog.” Once you’ve done that go to “Configure this Blog” and fill in what you can. Click the checkbox to select “Include this blog in Technorati’s Blog Finder” and fill out as many tags or keywords that accurately represent the content in your blog. When you’ve done that, click “Save Changes” and then grab your claim code. There are two types of codes that you may put somewhere in your blog for technorati to verify that your blog exists and keep track of it. If you have a blog that is Blogger powered or some other blog host that does not give you direct control of your blog files you will want to use the “Link Code” and post it somewhere on your blog. If you are using a more versatile blog publishing system, such as a custom WordPress or Movable Type installation you should copy the “Embed Code.” You can edit your sidebar, header, or footer file and put it wherever you like. You also have the option of posting a Technorati search box or various links on your blog without altering the code you just pasted. Select the options you like and click “Save Changes.” Everything is done by automatically by Technorati. One last thing you might consider is adding the Technorati ping link to your weblog. Doing this will let Technorati know when you have updated your blog. Find out how to do that on Technorati’s Ping Configuration page.
