The Pensieve
Callahan's Law: Shared pain is lessened; shared joy is increased.

The universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is not Narn or Human or Centauri or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope."
"It speaks in the language of trust. It speaks in the language of strength and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors speaking through us and the voice of our inheritors waiting to be born. The small, still voice that says: 'We are one. No matter the blood, no matter the skin, no matter the world, no matter the star. .. We are one. No matter the pain, no matter the darkness, no matter the loss, no matter the fear. .. We are one.' Here, gathered together in common cause, we begin to realize this singular truth and this singular rule that we must be kind to one another. Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light our way to a better future. We are one."
"We are one."

"They aren't as dreadful as the old cells," Illyan objected mildy. "I remember those. Spent a month under arrest in 'em myself, thirteen years ago." He cast a slightly sour smile at Miles. "Something about the Lord Regent's son's private army, and a certain treason charge."

Besides, DS9 had a captain that was actually likable, a shapeshifting security chief, and a tailor who was once the alien version of James Bond.

"I have come to the conclusion that the dashing young knight, who was supposed to ride in on his snow white horse and sweep me off my feet, has apparently become lost in the forest and is too stubborn to ask for directions."

To all my fellow physics students, may your Hilbert spaces be small and your bosons and pi-mesons be heavy. May your quarks have mass, and your lasers stay cool. May your particle accelerators smash with a vengence, and may your grad students graduate before death. To physics, and beyond!

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
Book(s) I am currently reading

...I hate Sunday nights. I really do. I mean, Sunday during the day is just fine, ya know, you get to relax and sleep in (well, usually), and, as Em says, "All is well and right with the world". But come Sunday night, I don't know, I just tend to get very depressed and moody about the upcoming week (or, more accuretly, Monday morning). *sighs* It doesn't help that I've been feeling blah for the whole summer. Bunny and Em came over this weekend, and it was great to see them, but...it was far too short. And so now I'm feeling even worse. This whole summer was a mistake; I cant seem to shake the feeling of wanting to be home with my family and friends, and just the whole me being such an idiot most of the time. And not just an idiot, but useless in the "wtf am I doing here, really" kind of way. I suppose I'll get over it, eventually. I usually do. Mayhaps when classes start in the fall, it'll be easier, since Ill be back to working on in-major stuff. And I will get to see family and friends over my "break" between summer and fall, so...damnit...why do I have to be such a farking idiot. *sighs* I should get off, and do something amusing to keep my mind off this...at least until tomorrow. Bye for now.

Two down, one to go
Friday. 7.1.05 10:18 am
...and once again that most wonderful time of the year is upon those of us who are insane enough to take summer classes. Yes, folks, it's finals week (or should I say "2 days"...gorram summer classes *sighs* The next time I get the bright idea to take 9 credits in the summer, someone *please* knock some sense into me. Seriously. At least its almost over, and next session shouldnt be as bad. On the downside, almost everyone is leaving (ie, Jen, Andrea(Jess's roomate), and Jess)...but on the bright side, I can't wait for a visit from Bunny, Erin, Lissa, etc, as well as my mom and Holly later on *grins* Speaking of which, Bunny, I *really* need you to pick a date *hinthintnudgenudge* Well, I think Im gonna go chill for a bit before I break out the stats tests and start studying...

Happy Friday!
Friday. 6.17.05 9:21 am
Well, I haven't updated in a while, so here goes: I've mostly been doing the usual (aka homework, studying, and for a change of pace going to class). I am very much ready for the weekend, although I have studying to do (what a suprise). On the bright side, I have recently found out that Newman Library (Tech campus library) has almost all of the Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser series (Fritz Leiber is the author, btw) so I've been reading that. Its excellent, so if you like fantasy adventure, go check it out. Even if Newman isn't Alderman, its pretty decent. *glares at two certain people* Well, I can't wait till I get back to Fluvanna in August, cuse I miss everyone, and hopefully with fall coming up, I can make it back for all the usual SCAdian fun. Zhai'helleva, everyone.

Mayfair...
Friday. 6.3.05 9:31 pm
I was really happy my dad agreed to come get me for Mayfair last weekend....it was an insanely long drive (9 hours from B'brug to Allentown, but my dad drove 12 of course), but it was well worth it to see everyone up there, and the music/crafts at Mayfair. We got rained out on Saturday, but Sunday was nice. I got to hear some zydeco as well as some celtic/folk stuff. And, of course seeing my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. was cool too. Now I get to do schoolwork, and research...yippie *tries to sound exctied and fails* Well, I really should finish my assignment due for online music appreciation that is due by midnight tonight. *sighs* Hope to see eveyone soon.
