Yay for puberty!
Saturday. 3.31.07 4:42 pm
Man, I know this is well known, but I have to say it anyway. Being a teenager sucks. This is the time. This is when you find out if you'll be able to survive in the world. This is when it all hits home. At least, for me. I'm only a Freshman, but I'm already starting to worry about college. Especially my career. I really can't decide what I'd major in. There's so much to think about...

And, of course, there's "teen love." I've always known I was brutally shy about the whole thing. Not in general, but when it comes to the actual dating, I dry up. I found that out the hard way, I guess.

Oh, and family. Fun stuff. I hope my brother's going to be okay, but it's hard to tell. Or maybe I don't want to know. Wow, that's really pessimistic. Of course, my mom is completely fizzled out. The guys at her work want her more and more, so between my brother and I, generally living, and work, she has almost zilch time to herself. Also, I hear that the dating game doesn't get much easier when you get past your growth spurt. I can tell you, it doesn't. Not for the general population, anyway.

The only good thing is that I have people willing to listen to me, and that I'm learning to manage my time WAY better. I still get side-tracked super easy, but I've been going to bed early for a few days now.

Brutally shy? Ha. Haven't you already had a girlfriend or two before?

Meep.
The teen love thing is partially your fault, because the two girls you dated were CRAAAZY. (Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in just a scary way. :P)

Everyone's worried about college. I told my friends yesterday that high school is all the problems of middle school, with career stress added. At least you don't have to get service hours to graduate. That just adds to it. I wouldn't worry about the dating, it's just added drama in most cases at time when you don't need it.

With your career, I wouldn't stress it. A lot of people change their major in college, and you'll see clearer and clearer as the years go by what you enjoy most. Just be realistic with yourself, because I know a few people who have a 2.0 GPA and think they're going to be the next world leaders or something. Sorry, but it's not going to happen. You can also do extra cirricular stuff that will look good on your resume that you enjoy. I'm sure the Clemson thing looks pretty good, that you've been asked to stay at a college already. You're already having stuff published, making awesome videos, and getting invited to prestigeous private schools and colleges. You should be the least worried of anyone!

Parents will still treat you like you're a 10 year old but they trust you less than a 10 year old.

Don't sweat college. If my brother pulled it off, you can definitely do it, considering you probably have the higher IQ.

Ditto to teen love. It's actually quite easy: you develop the relationship as friends, then you ask her out before she loses interest.

SHABAM.

Dating.

heh, I've known what I wanted to major in in college since I was in elementary school. I've been out of high school for about 3 years now and I still haven't gone to college. Hopefully {even though you're just a freshman now} you'll figure out what you want to do by the time you graduate and go to college right away.
