According to this huge study, we're all originally African. A little extra melanin doesn't mean anything!
Take pride! You're black, too! :P
But no seriously, that's how I use it. If you get to celebrate being black, I also get to celebrate being black. LET ME LOVE YOU, PEOPLE WITH BROWNER SKIN THAN MINE.
I WANT TO LOVE YOU.
(Otherwise, there isn't anything we can do about it, because living in America and being white makes you automatically guilty in history's eyes.)
